Who is this Sandhya?

I have tried hard to be blase and indifferent to Sandy's superwoman status this past month. But I had no choice but to acknowledge it after the episode.

Maasa is let's face it, fida over her Sandhya Beendni. It reached new heights with Sandy getting high ranked first place in the ritual today, taking precedence over Bhabo. Not that Sandy enjoyed it for even a second. She dies a thousand deaths while Maasa instructs her ...and the tabar word sent a few shockwaves in Bhabo's and Suraj's direction. Then Maasa points out that Sandy will be chief to 2 other devranis at Rathi Mansion...a few more tremors and undercurrents. I can't work out if the tension is because there's an elephant sized problem standing there called pregnant Emily...or BhaSan and Suraj are taking it as direct digs at SurYa for not producing a tabar.

Maasa's gift giving ended with the very thing that Sandy wanted to convey to Maasa. CVs did all the work and Sandy had to just stand there horror struck. Flashback time...Earlier, Bhabo had decided that they would all make a run for it. Sandy said they can't just run without telling Maasa something...anything. Bhabo then cleverly turned on Sandy and said that if Sandy had come to the gaav for the sake of Emily's baby, she,Bhabo, was now going to leave the gaav for the sake of her baby - Mohit. Needless to say, I was applauding at this point, even when I didn't want to. 😳

But now...here was Maasa ... confronted with half the truth...Sandy ... 😲 😒 🤔 😲 ...

Bhabo ... not wanting to look anywhere else but at her Sandhya Beendni, looks and sees her stricken Sandy... NoO ! Bhabo cannot bear to see anything render Sandy so helpless...so Bhabo dares to look at the scene. Now the combined force of BhaSan power to compel Maasa to lose her voice in public and she will convene another meeting in her room.

Here is when I melted just a bit. While Maasa does her rant, Emily collapses ... while trying desperately to grab Sandy for support, she falls at Sandy's feet. For some reason, I was reminded of the Sandy a year ago, so strong, so dignified,with everything against her...how far she has come, while still so young and still at times helpless and even scared, she still has such strength of character that Maasa, Bhabo and now Emily make her their first and last court of appeal. Emily gasps...'Sandhya! Mera Bachcha! Sandhya! Mera Bachcha!'

Emily= stupido numero uno...double definitely...🤪

Feeling really bad for all of the Rathi's today... No solution to the elephant in the room, i.e. a pregnant Emily is going to make everyone happy.

What I want to know is how Emily got her chain back? And why in God's name does she insist on wearing it at Maasa's?

I'll admit I skip through the episodes at times...maybe I missed something. 😕

Ya I don't know why Emily is suddenly wearing a cross now?

And I don't know how everyone's going to accept all this like it's nothing and go back to Pushkar...unless, Meena's delivery forces the issue and they all have to return whether Maasa likes it or not.

oh and the real #1 fans of Sandy are the CVs.

Behind closed dorrs though she'll explode, especially at Sandhya for keeping such a big secret from her.

I expect her to cut off all ties with the family, but will discover Emily's pregnancy...and then maybe understand why Sandhya did what she did.

You are right...Meena's delivery may just give the Rathis an excuse to leave...but what the solution on Momli's problem will be is what I want to know.

Actually... Kajli is a dweller from the other side of the well...and the incident with her son only happened 6 months ago...that's why the Rathis didn't know anything.

Fatima, she was looking for the chain, Sarpanch got up to dance and left it in the chair. Emily found it and wore it. She has never given a thought about its significance as she was never questioned by the Sarpanch about it. She also did not know Maasa is going to gift her a chain and it will be discovered. She wears it as a matter of habit inside and never visualized that the Maasa discovery would be through that.

oh right! So maybe this the first such incident in this village...maybe there's some hope then.
