YJHD..is this a right choice for Ranbir & DP??

I saw the trailor of YJHD and this movie looks like any other romcom...Ranbir has always had a good script sense (except for Anjaana Anjaani) and after a super performance in Barfi, I was expecting to see him do somthing better, but after watching the trailor I am disappointed.

Coming to Deepika, there has been a lot of buzz around her as the next best thing! I liked her performance in cocktail but her role in yjhd looks nothing different from what she has done before!!

there has been a lot of hype about Ranbir and Deepika doing a film after their break up..the worst part is they seem to be cashing in on their off screen relationship, onscreen..DP has no qualms narrating the dialogue to Ranbir..mujhe pyaar hua hain tumse..phir se!!😕 From what I feel this movie is just been mad for the heck of it..to get Ranbir, DP back together onscreen after their break up, and to generate curiosity among the viewers!! Hope Im completely wrong about this and there is more to the movie and lives up to the hype!!

deepika's character seemed like that of break ke baad to me😕

but i am willing to watch it though i like only ARK and kalki😆

YJHD looks kinda been there-done that to me as well... hopefully there will be something to justify Ranbir's choice of the movie, we'll come to know about it when we watch the movie.

All that is said above is true..but the excitement for the film is just amazing..perhaps its because we are seeing a true RomCom minus the cynicism after a long time..no reality check here.Just formulaic as Kjo says..

The movie doesn't look any different to me.The same old,hero and heroine meet,become friends and later fall in love.But still people will definitely watch this movie as it looks like a time pass movie.

Yeh Jawani Hai Dewani looks so terrible and bad. It's a rom-com but has not much hype which is shocking. Also if u compare this movie to rk's other movies then u will see that it lacks so much excitement.

YJHD is basically a mix of various rom-coms released in the past few years.

Deepika is completely blank and wooden in the trailer and her dialogue delivery is so cringeworthy. That accent is hell amusing. She can NOT do comedy at all and it's important in rom-coms that you are a little bit funny and wacky but Deepika is completely boring.

When she shoot the music videos, she probably thought she is doing some hair commercial because all she does in the music video is shaking her hair from one side to the other side and having her mouth wide open.

Ranbir doesn't even seem excited but still he is the show stealer in the trailers and song promos so far.

aditya got no space. Kalki is great.

Another thing is that deepika and ranbir have no chemistry at all. They look terrible together. People are loving Kalki with Ranbir in the little portions shown. That's not a good thing cause the lead pair is ranbir with deepika and there is no chemistry there.

Let's see how the movie is, but as of now it's looking very bad.

Yeah it's like any other rom-com but there's nothing bad about it being that, some people like me do enjoy them. I can't always be watching a barfi or a rocket singh, or another heavy hearted movie. We need some light-hearted, feel good movies too that can provide just some entertainment and help us unwind at the end of the day. All message-heavy movies will get too much, we need a balance. And this movie is definitely not "going a step down" for Ranbir, imo. I don't know why such roles are kind of looked down at here, there's nothing wrong in doing them. Good on Ranbir for choosing this, I don't always want to see him in those heavy performance roles. I enjoy a light, fluff rom-com just as much as I enjoy a barfi.And without watching the movie, I can't really say whether the script is bad, I'm hopeful I'll enjoy this movie.

Over the last few years, the first week of June (the week after the IPL season) has emerged as a very important release date for Bollywood. Since 2010, films released during this week have not only put up huge numbers at the box office but have also managed a position in the Top 3 grossers of the year. More importantly, all films have been blockbusters.

2010: Raajneeti released on 4th June and took the box office by storm right from the word go. It was declared a blockbuster even before the weekend was over. The Prakash Jha film was the third highest grosser of 2010. Rajneeti collections – 94 crores approx. Verdict – Blockbuster

2011: Salman Khan stormed the box office as 'Ready', which released on 3rd June, not only surpassed last year's biggest non-holiday blockbuster 'Raajneeti', but also broke the opening day and weekend record of 3 Idiots. It was also the first 100 crore grosser of 2011 and the second highest grossing film of 2011. Ready Collections – 122 crores approx. Verdict – Blockbuster.

2012: 1st June witnessed the release of Akshay Kumar's Rowdy Rathore and the 'masala entertainer' was expected to smash all previous non-holiday records. As expected, the film started off with a bang, surpassed all records by a distance, was the most universally appreciated film of the year and also the 3rd highest grosser of 2012. Rowdy Rathore Collections – 134 crores approx. Verdict – Blockbuster

So the post IPL week has been as good as a major holiday release for Bollywood and with Ranbir Kapoor proving his mettle with every new outing, the ultimate question remains, 'Can Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani overhaul all previous non holiday records?'

Frankly, i think it'd be a flop like Anjana Anjani, Bachna e haseeno, Ek mai hun aur ek tu and Break ke baad. What a terrible lot !! All of them had good songs but the movies were so damn bad. Same is gonna be with YJHD.

Cocktail was different. 😳
