Yes indeed, along with all the drama and excellent attempts at promoting social awareness going on in the show, we now have a Krishna and a Rukmini in DABH!
Now, your response to this statement can probably be categorised into one of the following:
a) You think that Arti (A-A-S) has lost her mind. š
b) You think that Arti is missing watching "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev" and "Jai Jai Jai Bajrangbali" on the weekend š, so she is trying to add names of characters from Hindu mythology into DABH!
c) You think that Arti is way too eager to see Star Plus's upcoming Mahabharat serial, so she is adding names of Mahabharat characters into DABH as there is so much drama going on (religion-related and otherwise)! š
e) You know what Arti is talking about and are thinking "What is with this girl and making threads about characters' names!" (I do do this quite a bit!). āļø
Well. after all that let me clearly explain what I am on about!
I always wondered what Maasa's and Daisa's characters actual names were (like Bhabo's name is Santosh and Bhabasa's is Arun), and now we know!
Maasa's name appears to be Krishna Rathi, as revealed by her husband (Dadusa) in the first episode in the village. I think the name suits her in a funny way - Lord Krishna was said to be eternally youthful, and Maasa certainly tries to be with all her fancy clothes, jewellery and make-up! š¤£
And in yesterday's episode Daisa revealed that her first name is Rukmini, when she suspected Meena of stealing her watch and told her that she had written the first letter of her name on the back of her watch. (By the way, YRKKH viewers, didn't Urmila Sharma act as a character named Rukmini in that show before - I think she was Nandini's mother-in-law?)
As soon as Daisa revealed that her name is Rukmini, I almost burst out laughing and thought how cool and funny it would be to have a scene with Maasa and Daisa together! (because of their personalities also, not just their names!) [Rukmini was one of the more well-known wives of Lord Krishna.] I wonder if the writers/CVs did that on purpose with these ladies' names, or if it just happened by co-incidence. ā
And while we are on the topic of character names, we also finally know that Dadusa's name is Bhavarlal Rathi. You might remember that for about the first 6 months or so of DABH, Bhabasa's name was Bhavarlal Rathi but then they changed it to Arun Rathi (
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/diya-aur-baati-hum/3019787/is-there-a-reason-they-changed-bhabasas-name ). I guess they thought Bhavarlal perhaps sounded like an older name and so changed Bhabasa's name to Arun (he is only supposed to be about 50 years old, maybe even late 40s) and then decided to give the Bhavarlal name to Dadusa.
Please do reply and let me know which of the options a-e you were going with (or if you had a different response!). šš¼
