'I can never be paired with Alia' says Emraan

Being a star kid has its own set of pros and cons. While being Mahesh Bhatt's daughter worked in Alia's favour to make an entry in Bollywood, it is also acting as an obstacle now. The actress had to withdraw from one of her father's films because it starred her cousin and actor Emraan Hashmi in lead. "Not even in my wildest dreams can I imagine being paired with Alia for a film. We're family and she's like a kid to me. It would be like incest, so I had to put my foot down," says Emraan.

Aalia herself, however, had no reservations about the film. The actress doesn't want to lose out on roles because of such limitations. Alia feels that she is caught in the same dilemma as Kapoor cousins Kareena and Ranbir who will never be paired romantically due to their family ties.
The film is scheduled to go on floors early next year. "Alia has been wanting to work in her home production for a while now, but the role has to suit her age and sensibility. She thought that this film was just her style. But unfortunately for Alia, she won't be able to be a part of it," says sources close to the actress.

Incidentally this also puts to rest the rumours about Emraan's alleged fall out with his uncle Mahesh Bhatt over Randeep Hooda replacing him in the Bhatt camp.

Well technically they are not blood related as Emraan's mother is Mahesh Bhatt's rakhi sister...but still
