Mr.Asad Ahmed Khan ka vaasta ek din Zoe ko le doobega.

Main yahaan Mr.Khan ke liye... I mean Mr.Asad Ahmed Khan ke liye aayi thi. Mujhe pataa tha ki wo yahaan kitnaa aana chaahte hain lekin wo kabhii nahiin aate. Issliye main yahaan unnke liye aayi. Mera yakeen kijiye main kucch nahiin kiyaa. Main sirf itnaa chaahti thi ki donno bhaai khush rahein... ( terrifying tearful realization)...lekin mera yakeen koi nahiin karega. Aur Mr.Khan to mera yakeen kabhi karenge hi nahiin."
- An inconsolable Zoe to Badi Bi voicing her intuitive anxiety that she is on the verge of losing Asad and his trust once AGAIN.
Hmmm... I do not know about you people and maybe am the only odd one out who thinks that everything didn't turn out to be as bad as we thought barring Razia's crass language.
Yes, Asad was livid and in his original ' ammie-pe-saara-jahaan-qurbaan' avatar. Which son will not do that? Or which daughter will not do that? Baahar se judge karnaa easy hai but the fact remains - Maa-Baap ki beizzati koi karke dekhe zaraa, tum use zindaa gaadh dogge. I have written an essay yesterday itself on how Dilshad's honour was ripped apart. I don't have to repeat it all over again. And we know Asad's obsessive attachment and fixation with his mother. The laptop was sent to the graveyard immediately.
And then, Asad picked up his car keys to go and beat the living daylights out of Siddiquis. But Dilshad stopped him - Tumhe tumhari Ammie ka vaasta. And Asad stopped right there. As much as i understand that Dilshad took the right decision by stopping Asad and his anger explosions , i can also say that this trying-to-suppress Asad's emotional rage was a mistake as well. Because Asad could not go and break Razia's jaw, the temper cannon shifted to Zoe immediately.
Zoe went to Siddiqui House without permission , without knowledge, without invitation. Zoe fed sweets to Humzie that were poisoned and Zoe had no coherent explanation. Zoe triggered the humiliation circus , the slapgate and what not. All this , without any 'conscious fault' of hers.
So, what cannot be done to Razia is done to Zoe with immediate effect but in a toned down version.
When Zoe comes back home, she is literally shaking with fear and even Dilshad and Tamaatar expect Asad to do the worst - Zoe was clearly expecting a slap ( watch her retreat like a terrified lamb as Asad advances towards her ). But Asad, even in this i-will-roast-everyone-alive avatar kinda surprises you.
He crosses his arms and plays a question-answer round with Zoe - why did you go to that house? did you tell anyone and if you didn't , why not? do you understand the impact of what you have done ? is your discretion and oversmartness so important that you went so thoughtless that you didn't think and bother about anyone? Not even me? Explain the poisoned sweets fiasco to me. Explain it to me how everything went wrong? Don't talk about Tanveer and don't drag Ayaan in between? I am talking to you and you answer me.
Yes, Asad gave every chance to Zoe to give one coherent answer ( even after packing her bags and seething like a predator ) - but what could Baby's terrified, slapped, shivering Sweety say? She was a victim of chaos, devilry and circumstances. She had no answer to give Asad that would pacify him.
And that did it for Asad. Aur din kharaab ho toh koi kya kar sakta hai? Jab Asad Zoe ki solid waali class lagaa rahaa tha , Dhurandhar and Dolly had to make an entry. Aur Asad to phir Asad hai. Gusse mein kar diyaa elaan ki le jaao is khoobsoorat kaneez ko, ise apne Jahaanpanah ki koi parwaah nahiin.
Asad's injury was both about his mother's disgrace and dishonour- and about Zoe hurting him. That is why he tells her indirectly when speaking to his Ammie - Inhe rishton ki koi parwaah nahiin hai.
Now, you understand that just why Zoe should not take risks of doing things that can send Asad on the wrong pole of his Bipolar nature? He even tells her in fury - Aap jaanti hain ki main aapko wahaan kabhi nahiin jaane detaa, issliye aisa kiyaa na aapne?
Zoe?
She was like a little puppy in the rain , wet, shivering , scared and looking at a door in the hope that the door will open and a warm pair of arms will give her some shelter. She was humiliated at Siddiqui House, accused of being a scarlet woman, a murderess, a sorceress ( after Razia was done trashing Dilshad) . She was physically manhandled by Razia , threatened by Gaffur and what not. She walked out of that house labeled as a 'naapaak'. But what was she thinking about really at that time?
You would want to roll your eyes and whack her - but even at that point she was thinking about Asad. What is he going to say? How am i going to face him and convince him that am innocent? And all that anxiety of losing Asad's trust and his warmth comes gushing when Badi Bi asks her about why she is here and why she tried to poison Humzie? In hysteric tears , she tells Badi Bi that she is here for Asad - that she knows nobody is going to believe her as she has no logical explanation to give about the poisoned sweets - but what is killing her is that Asad will not believe her. And she runs off , sobbing.
Yes, Zoe's primary concern should have been Humzie's life and initially it was - but what holds prime importance in her life came crashing back. The horror that Asad will switch off the Princess treatment the moment he sees her. That he will not want to see her anymore and that he will hate her all over again.
Heavy duty drama and heavy duty emotions.
Asad and Zoe were right in their places and they stayed true to their characters. Asad losing his head in anger is usual - a part of his character and whatever he felt inside came out in harsh words. He couldn't believe what just happened with his mother and he could not handle that Zoe brought about all this. To the extent that he actually thought the sweets were some kinda food poisoning due to Zoe's 'laaparwaahi'.
Zoe is a schism as a person - extremely strong and extremely fragile. She showed her strength by standing up for Dilshad and trying to convince Gaffur and Razia. But her fragile side turned her into a puppy-in-rain who was afraid that Asad will not open the door and let her in. Instead of being Zoe's strength ( from Asad's side , he is her strength ) , he has turned into her weakness and am not too clear if that is a good sign or a bad sign.
Its like if Dilshad is Asad's weakness, Asad is now Zoe's weakness. Aur dukhti ragg kabhi acchi cheez nahiin hotee.
Anyway,
The Wow moments of the day:
1. Rashid and Ayaan taking a stand for Zoe.
2. Tamaatar giving Asad a 'What the' look all the while after he decides to pack off Zoe.
3. Everyone expecting Asad to hit Zoe but Asad actually talking to her and making his anger and hurt VERBALLY very clear.
4. Dilshad trying to save AsYa's engagement till the last moment.
5. Badi Bi asking Zoe to use her brains regarding poisoned sweets while the latter rambled on about Asad.
The Eww moments of the day:
1. Tanveer trying to seduce Asad even in this situation.
2. Razia's use of language and her violence.
3. Timing of Dhurandhar and Dolly to dance in AsYa ki sagaai.
4. Asad saying that this country is not for Zoe. Abb jaake marathon karega aur waapis country mein rakhega ussko.
5. Zoe unable to answer even a single question of Asad coherently.And all her dukhi-bahu looks to Asad when he tells her to leave.
6. The 'meow' background score that drives me up the wall.
