CHAPTER -3

Finally it was the day for her to bid bye to her home.. today she would leave her nany , her brothers and sisters and friends here and leave for higher studies…a lot of thoughts lingered in her mind while she packed her bags .. she stood up after zipping the bag , when her eyes fell on the walls of her room.. she doesn't remember the day she was brought here by nany, she was too small then , since then these 4 walls remained her shelter …she shared all her joys and sorrows with the walls of this room..it had many paintings which she made , many chits where she wrote the thoughts of her mind.. she kept looking at them , when she heard a knock on the door

"didi.. nany said that she had arranged a rickshaw , it will be here in 15 minutes, aap jaldi se ready ho jayiye di" the little meera said and ran away from the door.. she smiled and sighed.. she went to pick up a dress .. she took a purple salwar and dressed up , humming a song she came to the mirror… she frowned seeing herselves in the mirror .. she looked at her dress…

"samar kaisi lag rahi hu mein" she circled one round holding the flows of her frok

" eyyy.. e this color doesn't suit you !!"

She frowned .. tick .. tick … clock ticked half an hour and brought her back from her trance .. she looked at herselves once again in the mirror .. she went near her bag and grabbed a green salwar and came near the mirror and held it on her body

" nahi taani this also doesn't suit " samar nodded ..

She frowned again, she grabbed a yellow dress and held it on her body and looked in the mirror

Samar showed his thumbs down.. she nodded her head

"taani tu white pehen le.. white mein tum bohot cute lagti hai.." samar said and she smiled .. she went near her bag and grabbed her white salwar and got dressed in it .. she came to the mirror and smiled .. she felt more comfortable … but suddenly she frowned .. she looked on all sides .. the entire room… realization stroked her

" taani tu .. tu kya soch rahi thi.. samar.." she hit her temple "have you turned mad?? You were changing dresses all the time thinking about samar's likes and dislikes ".. she sat on her bed and clutched the pillow " kya hogaya tume taani.." she clutched the pillow close to her heart

"samar .. samar is engaged in his new life … he lives a different life now , away from you … he was your best friend , and shayad tumhare liye abhi bhi vo tumhare best friend hai.. no one was able to replace his place in your heart.. but do you think it's the same for him…" she kept asking questions to herself..

Kya sirf main Samar ki best friend hun?

Kya main uski life mein abhi bhi utni i zaruri hun jitni pehle thi?

Nobody could replace him in my heart but did he found my replacement ?

Her expressions were changing with every question she was perplexed at her relationship with Samar and also tensed whether Samar still cared for her or not .

Hey krishna ji meri har baat Samar se shuru hoti hai aur ussi pe khatm tu kya yeh dosti har dosti se alag hai, kya humara rishta aaj bhi har rishte se upar hai...her mind was filled with several questions ...

" didi.. the rickshaw came , nany is calling you " meera came to inform her again

She was quickly brought out of her trance by the 6 year old's voice . she quickly dumped the rest of her dresses in the bag and got out .. she went near the main door . nany and all the residents of the orphanage had gathered there to bid good bye to her , her younger sisters, brothers, elder sisters, friends of her age, the servants who worked there , every one… she hugged many of them who were almost in the verge of crying .. finally she reached her nany…she hugged her nany tightly.. the old woman caressed her back and then kept her palm on taani's head to bless her. Having said bye to all she entered the rickshaw and the rickshaw left for the railway station

Railway station

She sat alone on a chair in the platform, as she held her bags close to her .. all this was pretty new to her .. she had gone in a train only once before and that too with nany when she was to participate in an event held outside the city … her life else remained fully within the boundaries of this city…. She noticed the people walking in haste and the trains rattle….the sound of busy life …

Soon the announcement came for the train to Mumbai..she got up from her seat and held her bags .. the rush increased as the train neared and stopped .. people hurried , some to get in while others to get out…she was almost squeezed amongst the crowd , however she managed to step in the train.. the next step was to find her seat …. Soon she found it and smiled seeing that it was one by the window side… with a soft smile she went towards her seat and made herselves comfortable… the others nearby was a big family with 3 kids and their parents and grand parents .. the kids played in their parents lap, one pulling the long beard of their grand dad, while the other tickling their grand ma , the third was in the lap of a lady , which she supposed to was the mother of the kids.. she was feeding the younger child…after looking at the family for sometime she looked outside.. looking at no-where ,missing an affection which she never felt in her life……the wind has started to play with her locks indicating the start of the train …. And there it started , her journey towards a completely new beginning……..

Same time- Mumbai- St Louis college

The car came to a halt all of a sudden making the dry sand particles to jump up and greet him…the skirt of a girl who stood near by ,flew up in the sudden gust of wind aroused by the halt of the car.. the girl arranged her dress and stood a step back near her friends .. all the girls now had their eyes on the door of the car , to see a glimpse of him when the door of the car flung open.. they whispered in each others ears about the car which seemed to be a brand new one, different from yesterday's.. suddenly an equally gusty wind blew marking the entry of another luxury car .. and this time it was the boys who struggled to have a glimpse when the door of the car opened ….Finally accelerating the heart beats of both the boys and girls who had gathered , the doors of both the cars opened … the drivers seat of the car in the right side opened to mark the glimpse of those brand new costly shoes … he rubbed them on the ground before getting out completely.. the back door of the car on the left side opened and the ground was passionately kissed by her long heels …she got out from the back seat , while he got out from the drivers seat of the adjacent car …. Both removed their sunshades…and looked at each other … she waved her fingers while he moved upto her , all the girls gathered flamed in jealousy , while all the boys gritted seeing him advance to her ..

" hey Sharon" he clapped his left palm with her right as she rendered her diva smile…

" so rey whats up??" she asked

" just as usual" he said and the duo climbed up the steps towards their college.. all the boys and girls gathered envied upon the duo… the best of best buddies of St Louis .. Sharon Raiprakash , the diva and Reyaansh Singhania, the heartthrob!!

A bit far away from the place a boy with a bit long hair, in loose full-sleeve shirt put his bicycle on its stand and rushed towards the college steps .. his mind was full of the duties he had and there a boy stumbled with him and he crashed onto the diva …he somehow managed to not make her fall as he held her round her waist….he didn't know why , but he always felt her brown eyes soo deep

" swayam again crashed with Sharon " a girl whispered to another and the 2^nd girl chuckled … Sharon glared at the girls , and swayam who heard the comment soon made her stand properly and left hold from her

" I'm sorry" he said

Rey who was annoyed by the comments from the students gathered turned to Sharon " hey sharon.. r u alright"

Sharon nodded in a yes..he felt relieved , but turned to the swayam " and you swayam..cant you see man , all the time you stumble upto her!!"

"hey rey , I said sorry and if you didn't hear ,I think she said she is alright"swayam said glaring at rey

"you!!" rey advanced forward to swayam when Sharon stopped " rey.. behave .. I am alright!!" she turned to swayam "swayam , please could you leave".. swayam gave a glare to rey and left the place

Classroom- corridor

Rey , Vicky and neil stood by the corridor glaring at the figure of every girl who passed by and may be because of his charm , almost every girl still walked a 100 rounds through the same corridor…soon the professor entered and the trio made their seat in the last row …they were busy with their i-pads while the professor gave his lecture … soon the hour ended .. the class was to disperse when swayam made his way to the podium

"guys, there is a small announcement"

The entire class became silent to hear what the GS had to say while the trio in the last row were still engrossed in their ipads..swayam glared at the trio " Vicky ,neil and rey …[the trio looked upto the podium hearing their name] I am here to announce something common to the whole class and I wish you also join" swayam stopped.. Vicky neil and rey looked t him with least interest

"neha telling GS should continue " neha said from one corner while ashi , amar and bharat joined in her support

Swayam nodded and continued

"so guys .. as you all know tomorrow the new batch would join the college , freshers"

"matlab new chicks " Vicky smirked earning smirks from rey and neil.. swayam saw the trio enjoying comments , he looked at them in disgust and continued " and being the GS of the college I would make sure the campus is 100% ragging free"

"buhahha" Vicky left a chuckle "ragging free St Louis when we are here .. funny man!!" neil joined rey still sat like the prince in between the two of them only smirking at their comments coz he never spoke much , he only acted

Swayam continued"towards the knowledge of all who had gathered here , this time the authorities had announced suspension to anyone engaged in ragging , so make sure none of you are caught,[he galred at the trio in the last row] else I will make sure you get the punishment … and one more thing guys , I need some volunteers towards the anti ragging committee"

"anti ragging.. what rubbish" simmi said as she turned to her side

Neha, bharat, ashi and amar and some other students joined swayam in his committee… soon swayam and his team members left the class to make arrangements for the next day..

Samar was too in college. Admist the crowd he was so alone and he moved to find a serene and quite place. After properly examining an abandoned corridor he took out an envelope from his jacket and smiled at a photo.

It was an eight year old Taani.

Samar:Agar tum yahan hoti to yeh sab kuch kitna alag hota, mere dil ki har baat ko bina mere kuch kahe samjhne wala koi hota.

Deep inside my heart you are fixed Taani and no one in this world can be like you even if they try ?

The bubbliness of your eyes , the innocense of your heart and your pious soul are way beyond any other person's reach. U sent me away because never wanted my future to be bleak because of you but being away took away my childhood and even my soul...

Main physically to tumse dure aa gaya lekin mentally and emotionally I was always with you. Main aaj bhi aapne sketches ke through yeh imagine karta hun ki tum kaisi dikhti hogi ?

Tumahara baal, tumhari ankhein aur tumhari badi si naak jis par humesha gussa hota tha ...(he smiles while his tears continued to flow)

Mujhe yaad hai ki aaj tum apni zindagi ki nayi shuruat karne wali ho par tumne mujhe bata tak nahi ki tum kahan jaa rahi ho for your higher studies...(the intensity of pain increased in his eyes)

But i know you very well you decided not to tell me only because you dont my life or my parent's life to get affected so i ll not say anything Taani...

I ll wait and see how much god is gonna test our bond and our patience...

Duniya ki koi takat tumhe mujhse dur nahi kar sakti Taani, humare rishte ki kismat ab tak to god ne likhi hai aur maine usse accept kiya hai lekin agar mujhe tumse dure hona pade to i am ready to fight even destiny.

Tumne humesha selfless rehkar mere liye decisions liye hai but main tumhare liye koi bhi decision selflessly nahi le sakta because you complete Samar , Taani...and without you Samar cant exist.

His face red in pain and disappointment.

But still he managed to gather courage and smiled and said

"All the best Taani"

May you get everything in life and nobody comes in your way.

I m always there for you Taani and I miss you.

Suddenly he was called by his friends and had too leave wiping his tears.

He wiped his tears but his swollen eyes were a proof enough that he genuinely missed his soulmate.
