I have been thinking along these lines. There needs to be a show along these lines. At least there should be a show where the heroine is a successful rude businesswoman with a dark past and the hero is a simple guy who gets a job in her office and is routinely insulted. Yep, in these scenarios the girl is usually called the vamp, in fact I can vaguely remember a Star Plus show like that. I'm tired of these stereotypes.
@Cardio21- I think what the TM means is not that RK is a chauvinist -RK is entirely what the CVs make him and I'm beginning to think the CVs are not only chauvinists but also medieval. What she(I'm assuming you're a girl, dear?) is asking is this- since majority girls in this forum find RK's acts so romantic, would they react in the same manner if it was the woman who was behaving in such a sadist manner, and like you said- they wouldn't, TRPs would fall.
Also, heroes have slapped girls on screen now and then- it is considered to be good for the girl- there was one spoilt brat Arman slapped in the Jassi show (not the heroine), also- what was the film where Kajol played twin sisters with Rishi and Rati as the estranged parents? Yeah, Rishi Kapoor slapped Rati Agnihotri there and she said "Kash yeh thappad tumne pehle mara hota" or something like that...so I don't think the slaps would be a problem. But yeah, I got a bit bored with Madhu's slaps after the last time. When he had chained her up I was in fact itching for a good solid punch (I prefer books over their movie adaptations, but I loved how Hermione punched Draco instead of slapping him in the third film. Yay!) but the CVs had to make her all submissive.*sigh*
Is continuity of characters too much of a thing to expect in Indain serials?
