Haha.. I know, lame title, but it got your attention, right?
My first ever take on the first ever episode of Saraswatichandra.
There were some awesome and some not-so-awesome moments in the episode for me.
First, the awesome. :)
1. I loved the background score! Music is one of the most important things to me, and I was really excited to see/hear what SC's BG music would be like. It lived up to my expectations. It definitely added another element to the screenplay.
2. The tiny little "coincidences" that actually meant/will mean something more. Like the fact that both Kumud and Saras' entry [well, the big reveal of their faces] was made in similar ways a.k.a. in a body of water. The fact that Kumud was wearing payals, which isn't really unique in itself. But that Saras made a point of his mother's payals in the beginning. :)There's probably more, but that's all I can remember right now.
3. The establishing of characters.
-Saras. From his beginning lines, you can start to understand him a bit better. Sure, he's a little mysterious, but it just makes him even more interesting. The way he was looking at Guman's feet; almost like he felt like ripping those payal's off her feet. lol His attitude... Uff! I can't wait to see how his charcter develops and matures. :)
Gautam was brilliant! I hope we get more dubki scenes in the future. ;)
-Kumud. As soon as she came on screen, I had a smile on my face. Something about her just makes you smile and be happy. Like a happiness magnet. I loved the way she has been portrayed. Her strength and determination was refreshing. How many girls would have refused a marriage proposal that was from a prince? Even her stubbornness was endearing.
Jennifer was amazing! She breathes life into Kumud.
-The Others. Well, yeah... Guman makes me want to strangle her. So I would say she's doing a pretty awesome job in enacting her part. Saras' dad makes me want to slap him. So the same goes for him. His friend [forgot his name] seems good; I still want to see more before I say anything about him. Kumud's famiily is so vibrant. So many different people, all bound by love. They were all adorable. Kumud and Kusum's relationship was so true to life; I can't wait to see more of them.
I was going to write about the not-so-awesome parts, but I listed so many positives that I can't remember the negatives.. I guess that's a good thing. :)
Well, here's my longish take on the first episode of Saraswatichandra! I am looking forward to watching this show. :)
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Krishna. :) I don't know if I'll be doing this regularly, but be sure to drop your comments, if you liked it/disliked it. Or if you have any complaints, suggestions, things to add. :)
Until next time! :)
