I never read Islam but my fathers estate division was according to the Muslim law
So I apologize for the misunderstanding
The laws maybe different for non wed mothers and illegitimate children
But I experienced none
I just said my mom who was divorced from my dad , got a fair share because she was our mom

Oh okay but I probably misunderstood then saying meera has no right to live at ani's house
If so I am sorry
What I mean is the baby shouldn't be deprived for their father's sins
And no meera should never do anything as Ani's wife
I would say even nandini shouldn't even though she is the wife
She should start wearing colourful saris
And not mourn that cheater's death
But I understand nandini is a sensitive character and while I think she is whiny (in my standards) she is normal in her standards :)
Meera should stop living in this house
Or just abort the baby
I can't understand why she would want this baby
This man cheated her
But from her perspective I see why she would want it
I feel sorry for the baby
Poor kid , what will they be born to

everyone is saying one thing as far as i know.. meera hav no right as ANI"S WIFE.. that is true.. its nandini's postion ..meera cant take it.. and meer hav only right as ANI"S CHILD"S MOM.. it is different from ani's wife's position dear..
and that baby did nothing..baby hav every right to live..so abortio is the worst optn

I haven't read through all of this, but yes Meera does have rights. Indian the courts have ruled in various cases that give mistresses, live-in partners, etc rights.

Meera wasn't a live-in partner, but she was in a relationship for two years (guessing Ani spent the time in her place anyway, so...). Plus she has a child from Ani.
