The shooting of Salman Khan's Mental stalled

The shooting of mental has come to screeching halt in Lavasa, the problem with Southern fighters which started over the weekend has now escalated with South fighters walking out of the film leaving the producers high and dry.

The problem started when the southern fighters alleged that they were not adequately represented in comparison to Mumbai artists along with the remuneration paid to them was 50% of what Mumbai fighters, they refused to participate in the shooting bringing shooting to a standstill. The matter was then passed onto the respective associations FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) and FEFSI (Film Employee's Federation of South India) to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

FEFSI president Vijayan and Senior member Shiva flew down to Mumbai to have a meeting with FWICE but now the news is coming that the meeting between the officials has ended without any resolution which has resulted in south fighters walking out of the film. Even an interception by Salman and Sohail to resolve the matter didn't help the issue, which has left them in a sticky situation now, either they have to arrange for fighters from Mumbai on a short notice or postpone the shooting, which will delay the film further.

The walking out of southern artists may also affect relationship between Salman Khan and Vijayan, who is president of FEFSI , as he was supped to do be the action director of the film .

PS. Vijayan's son Sabreesh is playing a negative role in Mental

In other news Actor Mukul Dev has been signed by Sohail Khan to play a negative role in Mental, Mukul Dev has been getting a lot of appreciation lately for his roles in Yamla pagla Deewana and Son of Sardar. It will be interesting to see Mukul in a negative role after seeing him in comedy roles lately.

If a report on Monday is to be believed the shooting of Sohail Khan's 'Mental' in Lavasa in Pune was disrupted over a scuffle that broke out between stunt-men from South India and Mumbai.However, sources from the location say that no such incident happened and that in fact no fights on or off screen occurred at all over the weekend. Says a source from on-location in Lavasa, "Salman Bhai and Sohail Bhai did not shoot any action sequences. So the question of disgruntled South Indian stunt-men clashing with their Mumbai counterparts didn't arise. We have no clue where this false story came from." Apparently Salman and Sohail are extremely peeved with the negative reporting on the shooting of their film. Says the source, "There were reports about a delay and postponement of the release. Now there is a baseless report on a fight between fighters. Please spare us. We just want to make our film quietly." Actor Ashmit Patel who plays a major role in 'Mental' says, "There was no fight at all. We are shooting dialogue scenes, no action scenes ."
