His timing couldn't have been better. Over the weekend, while everyone was raving about Hrithik Roshan's super act in Dhoom 2, could everything be quiet on King Khan's front? Of course not.

Knowing King Khan's penchant for catching everyone unawares (and diverting attention from the current talk of the town to himself), his PR machinery went into overdrive proclaiming that SRK is taking over Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 from the Big B.

A similar thing had happened when Rang De Basanti had released too, and SRK appeared on the front page of a newspaper as the guest editor, hogging the limelight away from Aamir.

Now, Star Plus thinks it has a prize catch in SRK, even though they've been worshipping at the altar of Bachchan all this while! And to think that once upon a time SRK hobnobbed with Zee. Yawn.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai caught in a candid moment When Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai took part in the pujas at Kashi Viswanath and Sankat Mochan temples in Varanasi early on Monday morning, there was intense media speculation about them having gotten married. However, HiTLIST has discovered that there was no marriage ceremony performed for them that day. Says a source close to the Bachchans, "Ash has become very close to the Bachchans, almost like a member of their family. So it's no surprise to see her participating in their pujas. This particular puja had been planned well in advance to ward off difficulties. It wasn't a last minute development. If they were indeed getting married, Ash's family would have been present for the ceremony." No Valentine vows Another buzz doing the rounds is that the couple went to Varanasi to seek the blessings of the family priest, Chandramouli Upadhyaya, in order to solemnise their wedding on February 14, 2007. Says the source, "The Valentine's Day wedding speculation is complete rubbish. There won't be any such development in the next few months." When a film magazine recently proclaimed that the couple had exchanged garlands at a temple in Madurai, the story gave impetus to the wedding speculations. But Ash's business manager Hari Singh feigns ignorance about the supposed nuptials. He says, "Talking about Ash's marriage is personal and I am not at liberty to comment on it. I myself don't know what the situation is. I know as much as you do." Singh then said that Ash would be returning to Mumbai for some professional meetings. "After that, we will work on the dates for the next schedule of Jodha-Akbar in Jaipur," he says. Spiritual leanings The entire Bachchan clan, including Amitabh, Jaya, daughter Shweta Nanda, Ajitabh, his daughter Namrata and 'chote bhaiya' Amar Singh took part in the Mangala Aarti and Rudra Abhishek ceremonies at the ancient temples. They even participated in an aarti for Lord Hanuman there. November 26 is also the 99th birth anniversary of Bachchan's father, noted Hindi poet Harivanshrai Bachchan. The Kashi Viswanath temple priest Srikanth Tripathi said that Abhishek and Ash offered the jalabhishek at his request. Chandramouli Upadhyaya, who met the Bachchans in Varanasi on Sunday night, said there was no discussion about the marriage and they had merely come to Varanasi to offer prayers

SRK stealing Hritik's thunder!!!Is that a joke? Hritik has spun miles ahead with D2. The first 4 days collection figures are unbelievable and the applause that Hritik has got for D2 is something ot be believed. First Krissh and now D2.

All that talk of 286 crores contract for KBC is utmost gibberish. SRK and his chamcha machine work overtime to sell him. As far as I know Amitabh made some 15 crores net for his first edition of KBC and according to Indiafm the contract SRK might wangle something double of that which given in terms of inflation and growth of the TV industry is acceptabel. Had AB done this show even he would have garnered something around that range.

The best thing that happened to SRK in his career was YRF. Without YR he is as vulnerable as any other star. Only Aamir is good at reinventing himself and doing unconventional roles and Hritik is a close 2nd in doing unusual roles. However his real test will be Jodha Akbar. I would say that SRK's self invented kingdom has been invaded big time by the Aamir's and Hritik's of the world.

I hope ASH-ABHI get married soon.... 😳

I agree with u.....with D2 in theatres Don is done and over with and the only movie ppl are talking about is D2....and i feel that D2 was much more entertaining than Don...because Don was just a remake with only the climax changed and some new action scenes....but D2 is whole new movie and SRK's Don image comes no where near Hrithik's Aryan image which is more stylish and cooler...this was just my opinion if any1 disagrees then i dont mind...but plz dont find this offensive

don had competion with another big release jaaneman which starred the combined muscle power of superstars akshaykumar and salman khan...to rake in twice the moolah is no mean feat!!

about KBC..who do else you think could have replaced BIG B?

only the shehanshah bigb and baadshaah srk are spoken in the same breath.

no one has dared to take any other star's name or compared him to amithji as of today..

Please give me a break with this Shahenshah and Baadshah bit. Amit has such a deep compelling voice which commands dignity and awe all across board. They could have brought Kabir Bedi who has a much better voice and style than any of the younger lot of heros including SRK. We don't want to hear Paaaaheleee aaap Kkkkkkiranji. Can you believe that he can really carry a show which again has been immortalized by AB.

'Dhoom 2' to reap benefits over 4 open weeks

It's a case of getting the timing right....in fact perfectly right!

'Dhoom 2' has released without any competition whatsoever with hardly hamrful releases last week [Janani, Rehguzar, Unns] and the coming week [With Luv...Tumhaara]. This makes it 2 weeks of clean run to make maximum profits. But this is not all as a week later comes 'Baabul' which is a sole big release with only 'Anwar' as the other release which should hardly create any problems. With 'Babul' getting its own fair share of screen space, D2 would have third week in succession to benefit from.

Later on December 15th, Yash Raj Films' own 'Kabul Express' releases and that itself is a strategic move since they can easily juggle around shows to keep both D2 and 'Kabul Express' in business. Other release... ... of the week could be Big B's long pending 'Zamaanat' but many would be surprised to know that it is YRF again which is distributing the film and hence D2 stays clear of any danger whatsoever.

The only major competition comes in the form of 'Bhagam Bhag' that arrives exactly 4 weeks from now i.e. December 22nd. Later on December 29th if 'I See You' indeed comes in then D2 may just about have to contend with it otherwise one may even consider 6 comfortable weeks in the running for D2 with only 'Babul' and 'Bhagam Bhag' as the competition.

Looking at such lineup of minimal releases over the next few weeks coupled with an excellent start that D2 has taken all over, it won't be a surprise to see the film embarking on a HUGE total in its theatrical run.
