SS - Change of Hearts part 2

When they went back to class, Chhanchhan completely ignored Manav for the rest of the time. She looked at the time on her phone every so often, waiting for the bell to go for her second class.

"Susu time hai kya?" Manav snorted a laugh when the teacher left the classroom. Chhanchhan kept herself quiet. "Just a few minutes to go," she whispered.

"What was that? Look Chhanchhan, I'll tell the teacher that you couldn't hold it. I don't think she'll mind."

Chhanchhan clamped her jaw down, forcing herself to remain silent. Just one more class and then lunch. She could get through that.

When the bell rang, she got up and threw on her backpack and was about to hastily walk away when she nearly fell backwards from a forceful pull.

Chhanchhan straightened herself and stared up at a laughing Manav. "You watch yourself, I'll make you cry one day."

She stormed from the room and made her way to her next class.

The bell for lunch rang and because Chhanchhan's best friend Simple wasn't at school, she went and sat on the grass, underneath the shade of a pretty green tree.

She opened her container with a wide grin on her face. She licked her lips looked down at the mithai. She picked one up and brought it to her mouth with her eyes closed in contentment when she suddenly felt it being jerked from her hand.

She opened her eyes startled and saw Manav standing over her, munching down on the sweet.

"Mmm-mmm. Chhanchhan," he started to speak with his full mouth. "Thank you so much yaar, that was delicious."

"Why are you following me now?!" She exclaimed.

Manav widened his eyes at her. "Relax! Look over there," he said pointing towards the parked cars. "I was walking to my car.

"And you tripped so badly you landed in front of me?" She stood up and glared up at him.

"You know they say wrinkles start at this age. You're 21 and it's about to bite you on the ass."

Chhanchhan looked at him confused. "Wrinkles huh?" He nodded his head yes.

"ON MY ASS?!"

Manav slapped his forehead, hysterically laughing. "Oh shit yaar, my own insult didn't make sense."

"You say that like that's such a surprise," she said twisting her mouth to show him how much she looked down upon him.

"You know what I think? I think that deep down...you secretly love me."

Chhanchhan casually stared at him for a second before she pushed him hard, making him stagger back a few steps. "I'll have IDIOT tattooed across my forehead the day that happens."

Manav chuckled and began to walk away. "I'll come in your dreams tonight."

"Yeah, where I'll ruthlessly kill you!" She said with her hands on her hips. Once he got in his car and drove away, Chhanchhan sat back down and stared at the rest of the sweets in vain. She had lost her appetite but she was going to eat them nonetheless...she was hungry after all!

Next day

Perhaps it would seem silly to some people to fight over a chair, but for Chhanchhan it wasn't just a chair anymore. It was her pride! She quickly got dressed in jeans and a zip up hoodie and got in her car to drive to school.

She made it fifteen minutes earlier than usual but when she turned the knob of the classroom door, it was locked. "The hell?" She said quietly to herself.

She stood by the door but as other students started to walk past, she couldn't help but feel like eyes were boring into her. She walked down the hallway and sat on the first staircase, which was outside. She took her phone out and started playing games.

After ten minutes, she craned her neck to see if the door was open. To her utter shock, she saw Manav only steps away from the door. By the time she got up and made it half way through the door, of course he was already sitting.

"Please Manav! I came early today just to get that seat!" She whined. The teacher must have unlocked the door and gone back to her office.

"Chhanchhan, lying is bad. I'm was here first so I don't care about the rest."

She stared at him for some time with almost a pleading look then shrugged her shoulders. "Fine. I don't care anymore either."

She picked up her purse off the ground, she left her usual backpack at home, and went to the very back of the classroom. Manav fell silent and for once he didn't know what to say.

When one person forfeits, well there's not much left to do. He took a couple glances over his shoulder to her but she never looked up from her book. 'Now what?' Manav wondered.

It seems to be the first SS on CC. I really enjoyed the cute and funny characters and their fight..
