First, I heard that it was done 4am India time and Gautam got up to be this obliging to the radio show. that's is just š. He just goes on prove time and time again how hard he works without complaint. It was also very clear from the interview how passionate he was about acting. He went on about though processes, etc. Thought that was very nice.
The interview, for those who could not catch it, was as usual with some questions and Gautam being his nice, straightforward self as always. A few funny and cute things stood out so I thought...let's talk about it.
1. The RJ out and out said that she would be happy to be with him when he said he's too busy and doesn't think any woman would be with him. That was cute! Glad that this RJ can admit that she likes a show and the actor without pretending to be uncaring and uber-detached about it.
2. A lot of male callers which was surprising in a nice way. One even gave a disclaimer that he never watched Indian TV but got hooked on this one š. He, really likes Gautam's eyes and did a little shayari on it. Then he told him to bat his lashes (or that's how I heard anyway), he really told him to look down. Come on, nazrei jukaya karo, that really sounds like it if you think literallyš¤£. It was funny because Gautam was like err, thank you - probably blushing beet red too š. I am sure the admirer meant well and it's nice to see he was secure enough to tell him in public.
3. Yet another male caller and one who had read the book posed some literature challenges to him š. This one grated on me a bit because he did not seem happy with "aggressive" Kumud and wondered why she wasn't shy like the book. He's entitled to his opinion but as Gautam said, it is a modern interpretation. I don't get why Kumud's kind of personality is so easily labeled as aggressive and dismissed. They are women who can stand up for themselves. All this disapproval just because they don't behave shy and meek is really sad. Society should really get used to outspoken women, it is high time.
4. Female callers asked what Gautam wanted in a woman and he gave a nice reply about compatibility being key more than looks, etc because who doesn't want that? That was quite original, I thought.
5. One other didn't know what too say, she was so thrilled. Another asked for an air kiss š
