Amazing post.
This pairing is so different from most of the other ones on Hindi television right now. I think part of it is because the main plot isn't focused on the love story and love angle, but the love angle works within the main plot. Whereas with most of the other stuff these days, it's about the hero-heroine or triangle and how everything else revolves around them or connected to their story.
Of course, not to mention, they are quite palpable, and have this kind of quiet but undeniable chemistry. When it first hit me was that scene where he accosts her at the Asthana House. There's that shot where we see him letting go of her as he realizes her story matches up with what he saw. You can really sense that chemistry there.
And about the 12th April scene, what can I say? Another scene, another progression. Agastya probably realized earlier than anyone else what Balraj had in mind, and why he asked Meera to stay. He probably suspected it a bit as everyone else waiting outside was sure Balraj was going to ream her out.
And lo and behold, Balraj comes... and later outright confirms that to him, his mother and Biji that he's doing this for he needs an heir.
It must have hit him. Just a day or two earlier, he had stopped himself from replying to Balraj, when Balraj once again not only failed to acknowledge Agastya's work, but outright belittled him.
And so, now comes Meera's child. The heir Balraj wants so much that he is going to hurt the rest of his family. The heir that Balraj wants so much so that basically, Agastya won't have any control over anything. (Though he also wants the heir in hopes of saving the house, which as much as Agastya cares for Nandini, he till now, unlike Biji and his brother, considers the house the Asthanas' and that it should remain so.
And the best thing about this is that it is subtle. We the viewers are left to draw and understand this ourselves, rather than having it explained.
Thank you! 🤗Awww you guys are making me blush! 😳😆
Totally! I love bickering pairs and outright fights but the novelty has worn of them what with every serial going that way, but this relationship is new. Absolutely, because it isn't the main angle, the CV's aren't forced to move their story on the fastrack and explain everything. This is one of the best things about this pairing, the subtlety and the pathos. Meera is broken, and Agastya doesn't fit the bill of a typical hero yet, together they are perfect and realistic. They shouldn't be together, yet somehow they always end up together trying to hide the truth. I especially love the way he always softens on seeing her tears, for a seconds his care really shows. Agastya is actually portrayed as a very caring person, true he brats around the place but when someone around is genuinely getting hurt, he will always back down, and after learning about her pregnancy, I expect him to take much more notice of her health and take some basic care of her her 😳
That was actually the first time I saw this serial, that scene was the one that got me hooked. 😉😆
I too had my suspicions you know, that Agastya already had an inkling! Remember, he tells Meera that leaving would be the best option, for them and for her? True, it could be a thinly veiled threat and I am almost sure Meera took it as one, but now that I think about it, Agastya is the only one in the house who has an idea of the true depths that Balraj can sink to, he has also been witness to Balraj's obsession with keeping the house. Naturally, he is smart enough to figure out Balraj's plan of action and manipulations. Also, he never blames Meera about her decision, he just says that he hopes that she took the decision after thinking because he has figured out that Balraj has used emotional blackmail to keep Meera here. It could be that he really wishes that she has looked through the pro's and cons of the decision and not just been manipulated by Balraj. How I wish it is so! 😆
That point of the story is what makes me believe that Agastya will play his own game, maybe to keep Meera from harm, maybe to just advance in his own goal of controlling the empire or maybe both, but Agastya would play an important part. Plus, Nandini and Meera are smart, I will grant that. Together they are both very strong, granted but to fight Balraj they will expertise of a different kind. The kind that only Agastya can provide.
And you are so right about the subtlety I go mad drawing inferences from their minute scenes 😛 Woh, jiska proof main aisi lambi posts main de hi deti hoon! 😛😉😆
