Harshad Chopda FanClub #87: Sweet Memories

Hope abides; therefore I abide.
Countless frustrations have not cowed me.
I am still alive, vibrant with life.
The black cloud will disappear,
The morning sun will appear once again
In all its supernal glory.

Its' been only a year since we were all excited and waiting in anticipation for his entry in Dil se di dua subhagiyawati bhava? The excitement, the guess work on how his role would be and not to forget the anticipation I particularly had at the prospects of Raghav being a Punjabi. (So what if we did not get to see him do bhangra, he still was a Punjabi K) I am sure your memories are still fresh on how right from the day the first articles had appeared about him entering the show as jahnvi's savior, we had been ecstatic. How we had made sure to discuss all possibilities of how his character is going to be, we all had a feeling that its' going to be something awesome because of the intense storyline.

I am sure you all remember the fun we had while imagining his entry, right from a royal entry on a horse in a polo match, to parachute jumping, from a beach to a jungle ' we had scanned all possible ways he could enter the show. Our chants for "bhag jhanvi bhag" grew louder too (much to the annoyance of some ;) ) And how can I forget the April fool prank done in advance on 26^th March 2012, where all of you believed a promo that never was and some even imagined HC in all black walking on road.

But the wait kept on growing longer and longer, two months since the article and he was nowhere to be seen, some people even made fun of us saying he is not even entering and we are excited as if we won some trophy. But eh those people know nothing about our dil ka connection ;) (No I am not talking about vandy's "phateechar" good for nothing connection here :@)

Then came the promo and it was enough to make us go mad, (yes yes yet again) those eyes, those same eyes yet so different, the fist ' that same hand we have admired for years appeared so different, so powerful and not to forget the look on his face, even when it was half hidden, we knew in Raghav we are in for a real treat!

Then finally came the day when we saw his hand, then his shoes, a man frantically running on a street trying to stop a bus, then chasing it, running through streets and trees, catching an apple from a cart on his way to stand in the middle of a road ' making us all go who the hell is this guy? (Of course we knew it's the person we have been waiting for but what is he?) How he took a bite from the apple the way he took a bite from that apple...sweat dripping down his cheek ... made a fist and stood there tall and strong ' not moving even an inch, not blinking, while the bus came towards him, just added to the aura of Raghav put forth brilliantly by Harshad. If promo was not intriguing enough for some, this sure was. I remember how we kept thinking why he was chasing the bus, who is he ' why he is the way he is? When the bus stopped, putting the apple on the front how he moved with style to enter it ' (I am sure some wondered that he probably missed the bus and hence was running after it :D) ' then the holding of the poll ' the intense eyes ' the look of I mean business on his face, as it was fully revealed. To say HC had yet again outclassed himself would be an under statement. Every little detail was played to perfection by him

He was shown fearless and determined, the way he chased the bus and then stopping of bus emphasized that he is someone who if has made up his mind to do something then he will get it done no matter what! He could make people change their paths but if he is firm on anything than no power in the world can shake him. His eyes speaking volumes about the angst and intensity he held within himself. Not to forget the bg chanting Raghav Raghav Raghav adding to the aura of the character.

All that was shown in entry episode was him chasing the bus and then entering it but that was enough ' enough to reveal that there was something different about him, something that pulled you towards him that intrigued you that made you wonder about the future storyline and character development. We for sure were in love again ' in love to find out what made Raghavendra Partap Singh, whose name was revealed to us much later but who had surely won many a hearts around the globe, with that one episode itself.

My whole purpose in life
