Chapter 11

Taani in the kitchen frustrated, chopping some vegetables. Taani's aunt see's her.

Taani aunt: ki hua Taani putar, aise lag raha hai ki tum Gabbar Singh ho aur ye sabji Thakur k haath!! Itna gusse mein kyu kaat rahi ho inhe!

Taani: (stops chopping)wo Kiya apne aap ko samajti kya hai? Muje puch rahi thi ki main sets pe kyu jaana chahti hu, jab yaha ayi thi tab kitni sweet ban rahi thi aur ab?? Ab Rey ki dost ban gayi, ab mera kya kam, jab zarurat thi tab mere ghar tak aa gayi, aur ab muje bhaga diya sets se! Muje toh shuru se hi Kiya pasand nahi thi, par ye Panchi meri baat sune tab na!

Taani's aunt was enjoying seeing Taani venting out her frustration, she smiles at her,

Taani aunt: kitni pyaari kudi hai wo bichari, kyu uski burayi kar rahi ho?

Rey walks and jumps in Yuvi's jeepsy. He was feeling a little awkward, he couldn't make eye contact with him, Yuvi also was feeling weird because he yelled at Taani coz of Rey. Both of them were waiting for the other to start the conversation, Yuvi starts whistling pretending everything is normal. Rey increases the music volume and starts moving his head according to the beats showing Yuvi that he is normal too.

Finally both look at each other and smile,

Yuvi: (teasing rey)Dekha maine!! Tune jo kiya ko hug kiya!! Sab samajta hu, tu mujse kuch nahi chupa sakta.

Rey smiles, his plan was working, Yuvi's thoughts now were distracted, he was now thinking of Rey with some other girl.

Yuvi: so tuje kiya pasand hai?

Rey was surprised, he just looks at yuvi ,.

Yuvi: achi hai na, Tuje kaise lagti hai wo?

Rey didn't know what to say. If he says no, then he's plan of making Yuvi believe that Taani was just a friend would not work, and now if he says that he likes Kiya, then Yuvi will never doubt Taani, everything will be normal then, he will never be a reason for their problems. He knows Yuvi loves Taani a lot, he never wants to come in between them,so for the sake of his friendship he had to say yes.

Rey: Haan wo I like her. Achi dancer hai, aur…aur(thinking of some more qualities)aur,

Yuvi: stylish hai, achi dikti hai, smart hai., hai na?

Rey: (nodes his head fast saying Yes) haan haan. Ye sab kuch bhi hai. (nervously smiles at Yuvi)

Yuvi: (happy) finally Rey, atlast tuje koi toh ladki pasand ayi, school khatam hui, college khatam hui, kabi bi koi ladki tuje pasand hi nai ati,ab toh girlfriend banana banta hai yaar!! Main bohot khush hu tere liye,Tu aur kiya, tum dono bohot ache lagoge ek saath. Tu bhi dancer wo bhi dancer! Tum dono k bacche bhi dancer paida honge, (starts laughing)

Rey just smiles. He didn't know what to say, he knew what he was doing was wrong, he was using Kiya, he has no feelings for her, but is doing all this only for Yuvi.

Rey: (thinking) kal subah Kiya ko milte hi il explain it to her that am doing all this for Yuvi and Taani. IL tell her that I have no feelings for her. Main Taani ki khushi aur Yuvi ki friendship k liye ye sab kar raha hu. I hope she understands.

Rey lying on his couch was feeling restless, he was feeling miserable coz he lied to Yuvi, he keeps turning left and right.

Taani was reading a novel, she see's her phone,

After few hours, Taani was done reading her novel, it was 1:30 am, so turns off the light and started yawning. As she was yawning she suddenly see's a shadow walking outside her room window, it passes one window and suddenly vanishes,Taani's heart starts beating, she looks at Panchi who was in her deep sleep now.

Taani: (whispering) Panchi, panchi utt..

But Panchi was not responding. Taani starts panicking now, suddenly she hears sumthing in the living room falling, a vase maybe, she gets startled, she directly gets up from her bed.and keeps staring at her rooms door, she could sense something walking near her room.

She looks at Panchi, Panchi's guitar was next to panchi's bed .Taani runs and gets it, She could see her door knob moving, Taani was trembling,she lifts her guitar, she swallows her saliva and was ready in her position to hit the robber, the door opens and bang… Taani hits the person with all her might on his face once, the person falls down, Taani hits once more on his back, and again on his theigh.

Person: oouucchhh…. Taani… pagal hui hai kya! Kya kar rahi hai?

Taani was about to hit him once more. But she stops, the guy was still on the floor, Taani sits near him, all confused.

Taani: Rey??

Rey takes his mobile out and turns on his flash light , Taani was shocked, her eyes pop out,she covers her mouth with both her hands.

Taani: Tu yaha kya kar raha hai? Aur (she looks at his forhead, she really hit him very badly, it was slightly bleeding) Rey utho, tumhare surr se khoon!! Oh no Rey, get up!

Rey gets up and he couldn't walk properly, Taani had hit his leg and back too! She helps him get up and makes him sit on her bed. She runs the kitchen and gets some ice.

Taani: (whispering) Rey am so sorry, (keeps the ice on his forhead)

Rey: ooouucchhh…

Taani (keeps her other hand on his mouth) ssshhh…. (looks at Panchi, but Panchi's in her deep sleep, she again turns and looks at Rey, her hand was on his mouth and one hand on his wound, the ice was melting and water was all over his face, both keep staring at each other.Rey was lost in Taani's eyes, the mobiles torch goes off and faint light was comin in from the windows, All rey could see was Taani's twinkling eyes, those eyes which made him fall in love with her, those eyes which always showed concern for him. Suddenly water from the melting ice goes into his eyes which brings him out of the trance. He moves a little bit backward. Taani removes her hand too, She stands up. Rey stands too.

Rey: (whispering) Aise koi marta hai kya? Kali maa kahi ki!

Taani: (whispering) Aise ghar me choro ki tarah gus kyu gaya? Muje kaise pata chalega ki tu hai? Aise toh chor daaku aate hai na?

Rey: Kitni baar phone kiya tuje, tu phone kyu nahi utha rahi thi?

Taani didn't know what to say. She starts thinking, there was silence for 2 mins.

Rey: Taani?? Sunn, muje pata hai Yuvi ne tujse kya kaha. Kiya ne sab sun liya tha. Aur, (the word kiya reminded him why he actually came to meet her) Kiya! Wo actually main tumse Kiya k bare me baat karne aya tha.

Taani gets upset. Rey came to her to speak about Kiya, She was not liking this at all. She folds her hand.

Taani: Tu mujse raat k 1:30 baje, chup chupke, ek chor k jaise, Us Kiya k bare mein baat karne aya hai?

Rey: haan! Taani sunn… wo actually..

Taani: You know what Rey, do min pehle muje bura lag raha tha ki maine tuje itne jor se mara, but ab muje bura lag raha hai ki maine tuje itna kum kyu mara, tuje toh aur marna chaiye tha. Ab tu mujse jab bhi baat karne ata hai, sirf kiya k bare mein hi baat karta hai. Rey aisa thodi hota hai, kya hum humesha Kiya ki hi baat karenge? Agar aisa hai toh muje koi baat nahi karni ab, muje nind aa rahi hai. Tum jao.

Rey: Taani, 2 min meri baat toh suno, haan ye kiya se related hai par..(tani didn't let him complete)

Taani: muje nahi sunna hai Rey! Hum kal baat karenge. Please tum jao yaha se, agar kisine dekh liya na, toh.. toh pata nahi kya hoga, please jao tum.

Rey realized that Taani was in no mood to listen to him. He agrees to her and quickly sneaks out from her home. Taani sadly goes and lies on her bed.

Taani and Panchi: (shocked) What!!!

Taani: (thinking) How could he do this? Wo kiya ko kaise like kar sakta hai?
