I enjoyed this episode 4/4/13, after skipping the few just before.

Bhabo is not really able to function without her Rathi Mansion Persuasion Tools. The Matka challenge is a blunt instrument that doesn't really help out in the gaav. Sandy is temporarily immune to Bhabo's challenges. There are much bigger issues at stake and Sandy is in her ' I will give my life for a life' mode. The part where I was momentarily shocked was when she asked Suraj to help her stop Emily from leaving. Suraj was even more shocked that he just ignored Bhabo and went with Sandy.

Emily has had enough. She's packing her bags. The dynamic duo come and listen to her long rant about Maasa. All of it is true. But Sandy wants Emily to look below the surface and see that Maasa is really a good hearted doll. Emily isn't in the mood. Just as she starts to leave, Sandy tells her that Suraj will take her to the bus stop since her parents have made SurYa Emily's temporary mama-papa. Apparently some fictitious people are arriving by bus to arrange a match with Mohit at the first available auspicious moment. Sandy makes wide stage eyes at Suraj who catches on. Turns out Suraj is a pro at persuasion. He's smooth. Very convincing when he says that yes, he has to go to the bus stop and so...hey...why not escort Emily. Emily falls for it and suddenly all is forgotten and Emily is back on mission.

Now Ems gives a mini lecture on how Sandy should know that she and Mohit's relationship has crossed various boundaries and reached new heights. Marriage is the only solution. Suraj is completely and utterly happy and sanguine to hear Emily articulating such things . Sandy is somewhere between embarrassed and uncomfortable. For some reason I fell in love with SurYa the most while watching this scene. Wait, there's more. Sandy always likes to have the last word and give the final stirring speech. So she pontificates in cute Sandy style that there are some fights that one must be prepared to lose much for and it takes time and patience and fortitude and strength and courage and ... Suraj, still watching Emily with the warmest, kindliest expression ever, stops Sandy from making Emily run back to Ajmer. Oye Sandy stop. The girl is emotionally drained, pregnant. Two things that Sandy has not experienced together.

What a team SurYa are.

I saw the difference between Sandhya and Emily in the episode. Also by now Suraj should have realized that his family members and relations are not easy people to live with 😉 Team Surya rocks!

The episode was good because Suraj was finally given some dialogue. 😆
I'm not satisfied that Sandhya is still involved in this Momli mess...that's what my stance has been from the beginning and I doubt it'll change.
Interestingly enough rather than being on a blind crusade to bring justice for the unborn child, Sandhya actually uttered something logical today...that we are talking about bringing a change in the thinking of societal norms, religion is involved...it will take a lot of time , patience and effort. Chances are Momili's child will be in college by then. 😕
I don't know...Emily has fallen in my eyes beyond repair. First, she has become dumber ever since coming to Maasa's. Second, her reaction to Masaa's treatment of her and the other DILs although valid, just further proved that she still hasn't completely understood just how much she'll be expected to compromise in order to be a DIL in the Rathi parivar. Third..and this one really takes the cake...she's still in love with Mohit...😲 😕 🤢 ...Someone shoot me in the head...🤢... just 2 minutes earlier wasn't she was trying to salvage what remained of her dignity?

Nicely written Anusha. After reading the LU, I was thinking that Bhabo would make my blood boil but saw only desperation there. Emily was right in her place. Bhabo where is your laadla Mohit? Obviously he bears no responsibility for the mess he has created. SurYa are beyond any normal couple. They have yet not spared a thought to where their relationship is. Suraj has always lived for his family and Sandy for the nation. I am going to stop expecting them to be the normal less lofty individuals like me and expecting them to romance each other!

I think the CVs have permanently killed the idea of a SurYa romance for me...I just can't imagine them beyond schoolyard romance now...😕...I think the day "it" happens I'll have to be admitted for shock 😆

Fatima and Deebz, so glad that you've accepted that SurYa are SurYa.

Emily is a bit ditzy and all over the place...put it down to hormones. But on her good days, she can actually out-Sandy Sandy.

Deebz, Suraj was just feeling all awww - mushy hearing how much Ems loves his baby brother. Ems was being a little bit more pragmatic than just blind love I think - baby! baby!

oh 1 more point, Suraj is the one who actually asked Emily if she was feeling okay now. Sandy just stood like a head mistress.

Niruba, what's the difference between Sandy and Ems?

Suraj knows exactly what his family is like. Suraj knows exactly what Sandy is like. Now Suraj is beginning to sus out Emily as well and he likes her. He's someone who accepts people as they are and doesn't try to change them. Sandy has learned from him and now looks for more subtle ways to persuade and get the point across. She has also learned patience from him. Sometimes you have to wait for the right circumstances, be at the right place at the right time. Not everything can be managed like a well rehearsed drill.

Nice post and discussions. SurYa indeed did rock and saved the crisis from dragging the RP to court. Bhabo quoting the matkas was a reinforcement of her belief in Sandhya as she alone in her eyes can save the family from ruin. I am not for a second being dramatic when I say this. The consequences of Emily leaving the village will no doubt impact Emily, but the Rathis will not get away scot free if Emily opts for a legal recourse. If this thing comes out in the open than all the Maan, Maryada and Sanskaars which Bhabo loves quoting in every other sentence will bite the dust at least temporarily. The RP image of being a respectable family will be badly hit. Her only daughters marriage may be endangered. Bhabo knows it very well and is as desperate as Emily if not more for the issue to be sorted out amicably. A girl brought up in a liberal atmosphere not used to all the gallis around her is torn between her love for Mohit and the acceptance of uncultured behaviour of the Rathis. For the sake of the former if she chooses to tolerate the latter be rest assured, she will cry every single day of her life unless she branches off into a nuclear family. She is confused and does not know what path to take. Sandhya convinces her to stay on. This is my reading of the situation.
Regarding the track I have to agree totally with Fatima, this is a very controversial subject and by showing it happening in the serial, I doubt whether it will have any inspirational impact on the viewer. It could have best been avoided.
