Chapter Five - The Darkness
I rummaged through the bag of clothes but realized Aditya had forgotten to get me something to wear at night. Though I had planned on sleeping in my summer dress, there was no chance of that happening now. So I quickly wrapped myself in a towel and let my hair hang down, dripping wet. I turned off the light in the bathroom and stepped out in the room, my room. I felt the hairs on my arm stand on end when I realized someone had turned the lights out in my room. I went to turn back to go into the bathroom when I felt something, or rather someone, pull my arm. I screamed but then before I knew it, I was pinned against a wall with a familiar warm hand covering my mouth. My chest rose up and down with every breath as my heart raced and I could feel a muscular chest against mine with every breath I took. He moved his hand away slowly.
"Who is it?!"
"Shhh..."
Hearing him say shh didn't give away much about who he was. I was just about to ask who it was again when I felt the man's fingers tracing my collarbone. Then I felt him coming closer as his warm, minty breath brushed against my skin. He brought his face near mine and whispered into my ear as his soft yet cold fingers slowly moved down towards my towel.
"Be careful, you never know what's in the dark..."
RK.
Just as I realized who it was, it was too late. He pulled my towel loose and I felt it fall to my feet. I gasped and quickly covered myself with my arms. I felt RK's presence disappear and then the lights suddenly flashed on. I quickly looked towards the door but no one was there. I looked around the room but no one was there. I looked towards the ground and saw my towel lying there. I hastily picked it up and wrapped it around myself again. I took a moment to lean against the wall and let myself control my breathing. When I knew I was fine, I went to walk out of my room. I peaked outside the door and didn't see anyone. My eyes fell on the door from which Aditya had exited earlier and I quickly ran towards it. I knocked at the door but there was no response, so I slowly opened it.
"Aditya?"
I whispered into the room but there was no response. I noticed it was dark and figured he was asleep since it was around 1am, but I needed clothes. As I walked in, I closed the door behind myself. Then suddenly, the lights flashed on and my arm was being twisted into an uncomfortable position. I grimaced in pain and let out a slight shriek. Then my eyes moved up to see RK's face.
"What are you doing in my room?"
"Your room?!"
I was confused because I could've sworn RK had been in a different room and Aditya had come out of this one.
"What. Are. You. Doing. In. My. Room?"
"I could've asked you the same thing RK. If that's your real name."
He stared at me with furious eyes and then finally released my arm. I let out the breath I had been holding to ignore the pain and then sighed in relief. He kept his eyes on me as I rubbed at my wrist. When I noticed he was still staring at me, I looked up at him. He began to walk towards me and I stepped back with every step he took to get closer to me. Eventually I hit the wall behind me. He placed one hand on the wall behind me and his other gripped at my waist. A chill ran down my spine as he began to bring his face closer to mine. His grip on my waist tightened and began to hurt so I grunted in pain. Then suddenly he pushed away from the wall and turned his back towards me.
"Why do you keep pinning me to the wall?"
"Don't ask me questions."
"Why. I think I have the right to some answers. Why'd you kidnap me?"
"You'll find out when the time is right."
"I want to know now!"
I accidently raised my voice and he turned to face me with an angered look. I couldn't help but look away from his intense look.
"Get out. Before I make you regret being here. Leave."
"Make me."
I guess I had surprised him with my response because I noticed the slight widening of his eyes. Then he opened his mouth as though wanting to say something but nothing came out. Then in a swift movement, he raised me in his arms and did something I was not expecting. He walked towards his bed. I had thought he would've thrown me out of his room. So I began to struggle to get free from his arms.
"Let me go!"
Not a word escaped his mouth and then he threw me onto his bed. As comfortable as it was, I couldn't take in it's comfort because of the penetrating look I was receiving from the man who stood at the end of the bed. I propped myself up onto my elbows to get a better look at him and saw him removing his jacket. My eyes widened and I knew I had to get out of there, so I jumped off the bed. Just as I was running past him, he grabbed my arm. I didn't turn to look in his direction but in my peripheral view, I noticed he didn't turn to face my direction either.
"Don't try to challenge me. You'll never win."
And with that, he let go of my arm and I made a dash for the door without glancing back.
