My niece introduced me to this very popular Korean drama 'Boys over Flowers', which was aired in 2009. Im sure many of you have watched it. The thing is that I was not interested until she told me that her friends in college found the characters similar to Arhi. Similar in the sense

- The boy is rich, arrogant
- The girl is poor, hardworking and bubbly
- She is the only one who talks back to him and puts him in his place
- they even have a kiss interrupted by a phone call
- There is a grandfather who runs away from the grandchild after the parents accident
- There is a infidel father.
- There is a track where the girl works in the boys mansion
- the other heroine lands up in the boys house wanting to train to be his wife
- there is also a scene discussing stars.
- there is also an invalid father
- she cooks very well too, and she eats well too
- the entrance by helicopter
- there is a scene after they fight, when they get together to follow another couple
All these things are common to many dramas, but if they were inspired by this one, then i must say that they missed the main point here. That is, this drama (25 one hour episodes) was a well rounded script, with a beginning and an end. a very nice ending.

Yes. Might be true. was in japan last week end. As I was staying with Korean friends had to see 2 serials they watch on Sunday. One was cotemporary . Boy rich, the girl works in his office. he pushes her to complete assingnment because he is jealous(her boy friend I guess ) late night sees her working alone, she bursts out crying with accusations and he hugs her akwardly ... all nostalgic with dejavu feeling ...
Another was an histoical drama where the king is very young and handsome and in love with his sooth sayer(I think ) and his young wife is jealous ...

Korean dramas are gripping as you rightly said because of the perfect logical continuity the way the scenes are taken, no kanjusi on the sets or out door shoots and wonderful casting ofcourse (But ARHI best)

OMG u watch boys over flower! This one was my second korean drama...after watching the drama, i WAS CRAZY FOR LEE MIN HOO...so i watch all of his dramas nd also other K dramas...until IPKND happened...i was a dying fan of k pop and oviusly lee min hoo. but now i am just in love with Barun Sobti...Arnav and everything about arshi. Its surprising that now i dont watch k pop...now I just spend my time by reading Arshis ff and old episodes. Yeah ure right both drama has kind of similarity. But I think k Dramas spend more money for a drma, where IPKND was kanjush for everything. BUT I LOVE IPKNDA LOT MOOO0ORE THEN ANY OTHER DRAMAS. YEAH ARSHI IS THE AMAZING AND BEST COUPLE.
