I thought Paani was a really big project with a huge budget, hence they would always want a bigger star in the film for commercial reasons at least.

But then rumors do suggest that HR picked Shuddhi over Paani.

Hrithik has back out from the project recently ... cos he chose Shuddhi over paani ...
Paani will be YRF first hollywood project or same cos it will release overseas ...
so even if they will cast "big star" from bollywood ... it will be no effect for audiences of other countries ...so I dont think it will matter that a big star will be cast or not in this film...

Hrithik has chosen Shuddhi over Paani? When did this happen? Did I miss an article or something?

I always thought this project was Hrithik's since the very beginning.

When Shuddhi was announced, there were articles saying that HR could only pick one between Shuddi and Paani...and he picked Shuddhi. 😕 But it could have just been media making up stuff and trying to create a Dharma vs YRF thing. 😆

For Gods sakes , Hrithik did not choose paani over shuddhi.
Shuddi and bang bang both r films that will be shot within a few mths. Take shuddhi for eg, it will start shoot in jan and release next yr in Diwali .
Paani is a hugely complex film and is still in pre production . Just recently there were rumours that anushka is in it. Sk is bound by contract to not talk about the film. But he very carefully said that anushka is not in the film making no mention of Roshan. He has also denied ranbir in the past stating clearly that once u have a talent like Hrithik you don't let him go. This isn't even a strong rumour so I don't expect him to tweet about it.
Otherwise YRF and adi r so secretive that no one knows what is happening . U have to read btwn the lines .
Kjo and adi r practically brothers , they will work this out without duggu having to sacrifice one

Paani is a huge film and Hrithik has been signed a long time back. Neither anushka, nor ranveer and neither sushant will headline it.
What's wrong with the common sense of everyone
Paani is a crossover film worth 30 million dollars. It may star one of the boys in side roles but no way will they headline it. It makes no commercial or artistic sense .
