Priyanka Chopra had promised herself and her fans down South that she would speak her own lines in Toofan, the Telugu version of Zanjeer. However, when Toofan's trailer was released recently, fans were surprised to learn that Priyanka's dialogues had been dubbed. A source close to the project says, "Priyanka was adamant about doing her own lines in Telugu. She still is.

But the trailer of Toofan had to go without Priyanka's voice." The source adds, "Priyanka tried very hard to master the Telugu dialogues, but the trailer of the Telugu version of Zanjeer was released in a hurry to coincide with its leading man Ramcharan Teja's birthday on March 27.

And so, there was no time for Priyanka to do her own lines." Says director Apoorva Lakhia, "That isn't Priyanka in the trailer ofToofan. But audiences will definitely hear her speak Telugu dialogues when the film releases."
