This day marks the third Holi on Saathiya. It also marks the journey of Ahem's love over this time, one that was slow and steady yet developed to be strong and deep.
When Gopi entered Ahem's life his world world was colourless. Ahem refused to take part in any festivities but was dutiful to his beloved mother. He kept himself occupied with his office work. It was his escape. He believed it kept him detached from family matters yet gave him recognition and strength. His first Holi as a married man left him bewildered with dealing with his new wife's feelings. She had coloured him, told him to smile and, most importantly, that she could not live without him.
This time he wanted to remind her of their time spent over the last Holi and reassure her of his love for her. He spoke of them becoming husband and wife.
He interrupted her response short when she began to express her love for him. This was when his swollen heart reached a tipping point.
He did not need any reassurance from her as he sees her love reflected in her actions everyday and in that of their daughter Meera. She has coloured his world and brought joy, happiness and love that he never felt ever before. He believes that he has to do the reminding of his love to her.
Could it be that this is his way of making up for all the ills he had done in their earlier part of their marriage?
