Asad (cynical tone): "Telephone exchange vaale hamesha vaada nibhaate hain.'
Zoya (elated and optimistic as always): "telephone exchange?"
Two different people, different attitudes and different reactions about the same topic. That's how Asad and Zoya are. North and South poles about almost everything but just like the opposite poles of a magnet, keeping pulling each other into their respective fields. The moment zoya entered the house after her visit to the masjid, Asad turned his head in her direction, even though he was engrossed in work. While Tanu hid behind as he worked in the living room, he completely ignored her presence, even though she stood there for quite some time.
If AsYa were on facebook, their favorite tab would be the POKE tab. They just can't avoid poking each other, whether they are working, in the same room, or busy with different things. That's how real life couples behave. It's their way of acknowledging each other, feeling each other and admiring each other without expressing it.
Even if they talk about nothing, act childish, annoy each other, that's their daily dose of love and affection for each other. In a way, I am glad Asad didn't accompany her to the masjid today. Both really wanted it, but by going alone, Zoya has proved that Asad just can't take her for granted. He will need to work hard to walk with her in the journey of life.
The rest of the episode centered around wrong and right telephone connections. Razia and Tanveer tried to hide and lie about their phone calls, just like their actions. Their ability to fool people has thus far been successful but I am sure it won't be long before their 'wrong' numbers will become the 'right" numbers. Tanveer's desperation and actions are becoming more suspicious by the day. Zoya is a bit distracted right now- Asad and Abbu- keep her away from her Bond avatar but it won't be too long before she figures it out. Like yesterday, she ignored the small detail about the water spilling on the phone. While Tanveer tried to 'phero pani' on Zoya's actions, Zoya didn't argue about Tanveer's story in front of Asad. She knows he would always defend Tanveer. Hope Zoya's database is recording all these incidents before it's too late. Asad is too gullible and frankly, too distracted by his Ms Hoity Toity these days. I think he likes to work from home just to keep an eye on his Ms Misfit.
Loved the last scene today- the split screen between Zoya and Ghafoor. Surbhi did a great job in that short scene. The moment she heard Ghafoor's voice, her eyes said it all. She is a great actress- improving day by day. My heart actually sank when Ghafoor said 'Hello" I felt I was Zoya for a moment on the other line.
Precap: Couldn't be lovelier. Ishq ka rang at it's full form. Hope Dilshaad, Najma and Ayaan also see them applying color to each other, lost in each other's eyes, oblivious of everyone around them. This time the 'exchange' of colors has found the right connection to the right number. No need to erase this message from the memory.
