----------In Rishabh's Car------------------
Madhu stared outside and closed her eyes. Rishabh watched as the raindrop fell on her face and the wind blew her hair. He suddenly pressed the brakes hard to see a boy standing in front of his car.
Madhu opened her eyes quickly as she jolted and looked surprised. She saw a little boy. His clothes looked old and ripped. His hair was messy.
Boy: Sir, please buy these flowers.
R: But, I don't need any flowers.
Boy: Please sir, my sister (points to a little girl) and I haven't eaten anything all day and now it's raining. Why don't you buy these flowers for the pretty lady next to you? I bet she will like it if you get her flowers.
R: Umm...okay. *hands some money to the boy*
Boy: Thanks you sir! Wait, you accidentally gave me too much money!
R: *smiles* No, I didn't...it's just a present from me. Get something good to eat today and buy some candy for your sister. *winks*
Boy: Thanks you so much sir, we won't have to worry about our food for at least a week.
Madhu smiles as she looked at Rishabh. Maybe he wasn't as bad as he seemed. He then handed a bouquet of red roses to Madhu and smiled.
M: Umm...thanks...you know, you aren't bad as you seem.
R: Nah, I'm just a good person today! So Madhu tell me about yourself...
M: Like what?
R: Madhu, what's your name?
M: My name is Madh...Hey! Do you think I'm basanti or something?
R: *laughs* So madhu, Do you have any friends?
M: Of course, I do! I'm kinda friends with Mukund Dixit but he's kinda annoying. But my best friends are Avantika Gupta and Shilpa Khanna. (Remembers what Shilpa said) You know Shilpa, right?
R: Shilpa Khanna...that fat girl? She's weird! She's always staring at me! You seriously need to raise the standards of your friends! Do you have any normal friends?
Madhu thinks to herself how heartbroken Shilpa would be if she came to know what Rishabh thought of her.
M: Yeah, like the people you hang out with are just so normal! Sikky, Dipali, Avinesh!
R: Sikky is a fool and he's not my friend. I have to be nice to him because he's my cousin. Avinesh is my best friend and he is very normal. Bittoo is like a older brother to me. Dipali...well Dipali is...she's my girlfriend.
For some reason Madhu felt like someone just stabbed her.
M: Remember her name isn't Dipali...it's Dee-paul-ee. But, do you really like her or...
R: I...of course like her...but...(Rishabh himself didn't know if he actually liked Dipali or not) But, hey you do a good imitation of her. She calls me Ree-shaab.
M: No offense, but I think she's annoying! You aren't bad looking, so you could've done better. (She realized what she said)
R: Hmm...I'm not bad looking. I know that but I didn't know you thought that too!
M: *panics* That's where I live! (She sees her mom standing outside)
Rishabh stops his white Mercedes in the chawl. Everybody in the chawl stopped what they were doing and just stared at the car waiting for someone to come out. They knew nobody at the cheek owned a car like that.
Madhu opened the door and slowly got out. Rishabh then rolled down the windows of his car. Padmini was confused. Why was her daughter in a Mercedes? Why was she holding flowers? Who was this boy? What is going on?
Rishabh stuck out his hand in front of Padmini.
R: Hi aunty!
Padmini glared at him. Rishabh smiled at folded his hands together.
R: Oh, sorry. Where are my manners? Namaste Aunty. I'm Rishabh...Madhu's friend.
Madhu looked down and smiled as Rishabh looked over to Madhu. Padmini stared angrily at her daughter. Then a tall and slim came and stood next to Madhu. She had a very sly look on her face.
Girl next to Madhu: Hello Rishabh, what are you doing here?
Rishabh's eyes grew and a look of confusion shot his face.
R: Trishna...
M: Didu? You two know each other?
T: Umm...yeah...we...we...were in the same class
R: Didu...? You two are sisters?
M: yeah, Didu, you know I'm Rishabh's tutor.
Trishna looked coyly at Rishabh and smiled as Rishabh looked away.
T: That's nice...isn't it Rishabh?
R: I...I...have to go...I'll see you tomorrow Madhu.
Rishabh drive away out of the chawl. Padmini and her daughters walked to their house.
----------------Rishabh's car-----------------
(thinks to self)
Trishna is Madhu's sister? How is that possible? Madhu is so innocent, she would never do anything wrong...and Trishna...
Why? Out of all the girls in the world, she's Madhu's sister!
-----------------The Maliks Home-----------------
Padmini: Madhu! What is this? What were you doing in his car? Where did you get these flowers?
M: Maa, I couldn't find a taxi and it was raining so he offered to drop me home. He was just trying to be nice.
P: What about the flowers?
M: A poor child needed money so he sold Rishabh some flowers and he gave them to me.
P: Madhu, please stay away from this boy. For rich boys like him...innocent girls like you are just entertainment for him.
M: But Maa...
Trishna: Maa, he's Rishabh...Rishabh Kundra...he can have any girl he wants...then why would he be after "Madhu"?
P: Trishna, you too...stay away from boys like that. Madhu, your father will be very angry if he finds out...
A tall and strong man enters the house
Man: Find what out?
P: Malik...aap aagaye (You are here?)
Malik: Is everything okay?
P: Yes everything's fine. What's in that bag?
Malik: It's a shirt for Madhu. We were shopping the other day and I saw she liked this shirt but didn't buy it because it was too expensive.
Madhu hugs her father.
M: Thank you father!
Malik: Anything for my little princess!
Trishna watched Madhu enviously from a distance.
T: (thinks to self) She's everybody's angel...father,mother, and now..."Rishabh" too...they think she is so perfect..."even though she is..."but not for long...
Next chapter: Madhu and Dipali face off! Hint: Happy "Holi" everyone!
