Helooooooooo my dear Harry Potter Forum members!!!

Yes yes yes!!! That's the next question!

Is hermione fun? Or is she not?

She's the girl who always says "Let's do homework!" or "Oh I brought this along for some light reading! " (At a 1500 page book)

But she's also the girl who's accompanied Harry and Ron on all their vacations, tried quidditch, formed the DA, etc...

So what do you say? Is she fun? Is she boring? Or is she a mix of both???

rakhi is not fun, having her around is like having an overconcerned stern elder sister. she cant really relax or bend any rules unless it's a livesaving situation

i guess hermione can be a little unpredictable at times... just wen you start to think that she's a goody two shoes and a discplined know-it-all, she does something that completely surprises you...

in book 1, she kind of encouraged harry to look in the restricted section

and

in book 3, she slapped malfoy (well actually, in the movie, she punched him )

these are just 2 of the many incidents when hermione has done something no one wud expect her to do...

i guess she knows how to have fun, but she keeps it to a limit cuz if not, the trio would probably be a mess... there's a reason as to why at most times, she seems boring...

Good one!

Well...

As a character in the book I think Hermione's pretty amusing. For example there are thosr bits where she bugs Ron.

In book 6 there's that part when they are at Madame Rosmerts.
Hermione; "Ron what are you looking at?"
Ron;"Nothing!"
Hermione:"I think nothing is at the back of the shop with Butterbeers!"

As a erson, well I'm not sure. I don't mean that she's really Boring but it's not lie that she's fun. Tho she helps Hsarry in all those rash things it's not for the sense of fun-but rather to get the job done!

I rest my case!

People do argue a bit and give reasons for your choice cos it's not a discussion otherwise!!! đŸ˜†

i think all your arguements are on how unpredictable/necessary hermione can be ... but those things dont really make someone fun , do they ? have you ever seen hermione tell a joke ?

Hmmmm....yes I agree Hermione is boring...in a sense that she's always doing her homwork or studying...she hates to waste her time when she can be doing something productive.

At the same time....its not that she's not "fun" to be with. I guess the first thing that would strike you if u met her would be that she's an extremely snobbish, bossy girl. But if u get to know the real Hermione...she's not only fun but also downright rebellious when the need arises.

A very fine example would be of the first HP book..Harry and Ron first think she's a goody-two-shoes...but after the troll incident, they got to know the real Hermione...the rebel behind the goody-two-shoes. I guess, Hermione looks to be a Ravenclaw from afar...but really on the inside...she has a Gryffindor core...but I guess she pushes that core until she loses her temper, after which she can get absolutly vicious. Example, when she slapped Malfoy(PoA), when she hexed that parchment for the DA(OotP), when she screamed at Skeeter in the Three Broomsticks(GoF). In all these cases she just lost her temper and went wild!
Then in HBP, JKR developed her character or gave ehr a different side when she made Hermione Confund Mclaggen for Ron! That was so un-Hermione-ish and yet made me cheer! đŸ˜‰

Hermione doesen't crack jokes? Ofcourse she does! Its just...Ron, who is the principle joke-maker in the Trio, gets more page-time for his jokes as they're his speciality. Hermione gets the "brilliant brain-waves" kinda scenes. Do you really tink Ginny &Hermione have become so good friends if Hermione couldn't crack jokes? (Harry&Ron are outta the question as they befriended her after the troll)

Hermione in my opinion.... is both... but more of boring n studious than fun-loving...

studying n achieving something in life is her main goal but she does have fun when its needed...

guys, the world is not divided into good people and death eaters ... similarly not between fun people and boring people.

hermione is not fun , not extremely boring. she is the most useful companion harry got, and without her no one would have been able to pass a devil's snare, a gate of fire, locate the chamber of secrets .. but as time goes by harry's dependancy on hermione's knowledge is decreasing chapter by chapter . i suppose that's JKR's path to prepare harry to the lonely path towards voldemort. but the thing is ... hermione is an essential and necessary companions , her advices on emotion and other peoples are useful .

hermione is basically a girl , the most of the fun things hermione does are the outbrust of her girlyness ... like xMarauderx mentioned , the little hearts on lockheat's timetables, the going to a party to make ron jealous are all the glimps of her feminine nature , which she keeps hiding in her bossy and educational nature. many things hermione does are fun to watch, but for hermione, they are results of anything, but humor.
