I'll jump straight to the lady of the hour. Kumud is officially my ideal female protagonist. The woman has pride, spunk, compassion and most essentially strength. Strength to fight for what she believes in , strength to redeem, strength to feel and back someone's pain at the risk of getting hurt herself. The village belle can put modern city-dwellers to shame.
Like everyone said, two scenes in particular stood out for me. Firstly, the scene where she shoves the crowd and puts in her fiery defence. Man was she great or was she great in that act.! Jennifer's strength in acting has in my opinion always been her outbursts, when she vents there's something so unhinged about her performance and that's what I saw in the ME- in your words she acted 'khulke'. And it wasn't just her anger at witnessing the injustice but her suffering at seeing Saras so dejected.
Second is the mother-daughter scene. The advice that Kumud should share the blame and responsibility for the sake of humanity and not her budding emotions was so bitter-sweet , touched my heart. I love Guniyal, she's more level-headed than Kumud is and is so insightful, she knows that there's more that her daughter has at stake in this than anybody else- the gambling of emotions that both of Saras- Kumud are at.
And Saras like his character is quietly paving way to my heart. His presence and aura are so calm and soothing. Gautam is Saras and vice versa. I wanna badly know the back story of the incident and I too am not for taking the blame on others' behalf.I'd presume he badly needed a reason to stay and the risk to VC's prestige further instigated him to make the sacrifice. Anywhoo, he was really cute in the last scene. I need to stop this SC mania it's getting addictive.
