Cricketer turned actor Salil Ankola will come back to television with this show. Talented actress Sucheta Trivedi, who was last seen in Ek Doosre Se Karte Hai Pyaar Hum, will also make her entry in Savitri. A reliable source tells us that Salil and Sucheta have been roped in to play the parents of Princess Damayanti (Savitri in her past life), and will play the King and Queen.

When contacted, Sucheta Trivedi confirmed this piece of news saying, "Yes, I am pretty excited to play this role. The show Savitri reminds me of Harry Potter and such other stories. I am starting shoot for the serial today, and I play the Queen and mother to the little Damayanti. As Savitri goes through the pages of the book, our past story will get narrated."
