| | | | phasi toh hasi: Bipasha Basu in Dhoom 2 | Abhishek Bachchan is a master prankster. This time, Bipasha Basu found herself at the receiving end while shooting for Dhoom 2. Says Bipasha, "I play a stern, non-nonsense cop called Shonali. The scene involved Abhishek (who plays Jai Dixit), Uday (who plays Ali) and other cops. Normally I am very good at memorising lines, but I don't know what happened to me that day. It was a simple line but I just couldn't deliver it. I laughed and cried, but couldn't deliver the line. So they shot it on Ali and Jai's close-ups. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life and Abhishek didn't let me forget it that day!" Masti time Basu says Abhishek was in his element that day. "He was pulling my leg and laughing at me at every opportunity. But then he is like that — full of masti. There's never a dull moment with him around. Hrithik too has a great sense of humour, which I discovered during the film's making." Abhishek was not just a friend but also a sympathiser. Apparently, Bipasha cried on his shoulders during the making of Dhoom 2 when she thought beau John Abraham was neglecting her. "Rubbish! It was just a rumour. I am not an emotional person who cries at the drop of a hat." During the shooting of Dhoom 2 in Brazil, Bipasha was often mistaken for a Brazilian. She laughs, "I looked like a local with my tanned skin and long hair. Often, while browsing around the flea markets, tourists there would mistake me for a local and ask me the price of things," she laughs. Bikini babe Bipasha wasn't uncomfortable donning a bikini for the first time in Dhoom 2. "I was confident of wearing a bikini just the way I wear jeans. I never felt embarrassed. I never wear something I am uncomfortable in. Also, they have projected me in an athletic and aesthetic way." Very few know that Bipasha had been offered Rimmi Sen's role. "At that time, I had certain professional reasons for turning it down as the length wasn't as great as the boys. I had certain apprehensions and also the dates didn't fall into place. So this time, when Sanjay Gadhvi and Adi (Aditya Chopra) approached me again, I was very excited. Dhoom 2 provides everyone with adequate screen time. Apparently, they had been writing the script keeping me in mind." Was she upset when John wasn't offered Dhoom 2? "No. John had a fantastic time in Dhoom. Whatever he is today and his biker image is because of Dhoom. Dhoom 2 is a different story altogether." Total masala How would she describe Dhoom 2? "It's an entertainer — a fun film, with lots of comedy, action, stunts and skin. Each character has been styled differently by Anahita Shroff and Adi. The only thing I missed was not doing as much action as the boys! I would love to do an all-out action film where chicks get to kick butt." Apparently, Shonali Bose is a grey character. "You will have to watch Dhoom 2 to find out if it's grey or not," Bipasha grins. |
