If the argument is that Varsha's mistakes affected lives and Purvi's mistake affected only her own life i am sorry but i disagree .

Purvi had a right to change her mind about marrying . What was not her right was her emotional blackmail of Arjun to marry her sister . She did not just exercise her right to refuse ...she went one step ahead and played God . So u see she affected lives .

Her premarital sex and unwed pregnancy would have only affected her life if the decision would have remained just that . But again she played God . She told her besotted doctor husband to swap babies without the parent's permission and not to tell them their baby was dead and chupchaap keep her baby in place . Again she has affected lives ...Arjun , Ovi and even the defenceless baby 's .

So u see Purvi affects others lives .not just her own .

Neither does a time span of a certain lifestyle deemed as immoral make the action forgivable or unforgivable . Varsha was an adult woman . If she chooses to have a live in relationship which goes against Sulochana's teachings it is not punishable bcoz it is for 18 years and being an unwed mom and passing off her love child chupchaap as another's baby is not less punishable bcoz it has just been for one year . Purvi has made mincemeat of Sulochana's sanskaars as much as Varsha .

Sulochana has cited the dukh Varsha has given Archu as unforgivable . Well , Manju has stirred trouble in Archana's marital happiness since day one of Archana getting married . Infact all Archana's troubles have been due to Sulochana's bahu but Sulochana is staying with the same bahu although she once usurped her house and threw her out .

Varsha is genuinely repentant today but there is no repentance in Manju's heart . Yet she is given a place by Sulochana .

The truth is Sulochana acts very self righteous when a person is down and rubs it in . She had gone to invite the Deshmukhs for Purvi's engagement when they were down , she had taunted Savita in the temple when she was down and today she is pushing Varsha like a beggar when she is down . All that matters to her is puffing her butt with the air of sanskaars .
