Fab job…despite not so 'up- to-the-standard' episode.
as usual, some disagreement over Kumud. will get back with the analysis...

I loved the way you explained...my heart definitely went to him...he knows how he has never been able to forget the pain of losing his mother even for a nonosecond of his life and someone, especially that person who thought would understand him says "Saraswatika beta ushike saath chala gaya hai"...can't decipher his pain and sorrow at that point!!

Love your views about the episode. During the field confrontation I couldn't decide which side to be on. I felt like crying for Saras but then I couldn't for Kumud's pain. They both seem to be jabbing one another below the belt with their words. Their scenes are filled with pain but are mesmerizing to watch.

Ok. I agree with your opening. The bungle on Dukhba was too glaring.
But on Kumud- Yes, she was snapped too quickly into angry mode- bit unconvincing- for her recent humility. I had just argued so in other thread. But still there is an explanation; 😳

First of all, she went there all concerned. She was aghast at seeing incurring physical pain on himself, over and over his mental turmoils. She pleaded him to stop. But he was not even heeding. Now at this point, what would be her inference? Mind you, She did not know what went between Saras and Dukhba at the moment (assuming her out of range). So she did not know, Saras had now another 'provocateur' for this relapse. So she must have believed, 'he is being adamant, mulish. Not forgiving and punishing her obliquely with incurring self torture'. And she erupts on him. Somewhere deep, she must be thinking, 'reverse' might work!😆
And see the effect. It did wake him from a dazed state even in retaliation. Ok Their scene then onward was intense. And Jenifer emoted brilliant.
Her 'stricken' expression- on his jabs, accusing her of conceit and vanity, 'selfish charges' returned with interest- were simply outstanding. When he says, 'i came here 'only' for forgiveness, is he totally honest? Not even with himself. For then what about his recent signals communicating other things? Look at Saras himself remembering his own reflections on their tete a tete...right? 😊

Srushti, really nice post, very apt description.

However I would like to add that Kumud, I feel, understands by now that there is something Saras needs to let go. His pain, anguish, agony which he has kept in his heart and not releasing. If you see, she said when he was doing ploughing, 'you need to let go of the demon inside you first, than think of relieving yourself' ( I don't remember the exact dialogue, but see the video once again).

She is the one who has somewhat the overview. When she said that ' kyon hum dono ek doosre ko chubhan dete hain,' the other day, she is realising that every time they want to comfort each other still end up fighting for some reason or the other.

Saras is not ready to accept the layers or deep inside pain in him is ruining him, it's Kumud who has identified it, since the day she has seen his eyes. She says also " you know why I agreed by merely seeing your eyes, coz I saw an innocent pain in them". Even in the room, she only recognised it again, and told him to share to get rid of the pain inside him. She knows him better than he himself.

At times if the person you know is in deep pain, and you want to relieve him, and he does not acknowledge only that he has pain and it will ruin him, frustrates you. Same is happening to Kumud.

Why she ran after him to the fields was not coz she wanted to belittle him, but coz she was worried after seeing him on the verge of tears after talks with Dukhba.

In my opinion, when she said to Saras that ' tum swarthi ho' she was trying provoke him to spit his pain out. She was just trying to incite him to let go in some way or the other. Since she did not know how to relieve him exactly, she made him to take his anger out on her. But she never expected his anger will be so personal aimed at her.

Even while packing, she does not want him to leave coz he has not yet said no, but coz she wants him to leave from a place which is resurrecting his pain. That's why she said, ' mujhe tum he yahan bulana hi Nahin chahiye tha' , and not because he was being personal in saying about her ' ahankaar'.

Srushti,
Very well written, both the posts. I also was moved by the expression in Saras's eyes when Dukhba rejected him. He died again then 😭 It is so sad how we don't see what is right in front of our eyes because of our stupid prejudices, isn't it? And the episode yesterday shows clearly how convoluted our mind becomes when we harbour pain or anger in our heart for a long time. We need to learn to let it go.
Poor Saras...all he wants is someone to help him let go of the darkness in his heart. And the first time he really opened up to someone, his very identity was taken away from him leaving him completely broken. The field scene afterwards is symbolic of how he has been coping with life so far. He just takes it all on himself to fight the demons of his mind. Heart wrenching !!! 😔
What a performance by Gautam !!! I was blown away by his expressions...just right and conveys the feelings brilliantly.
