It was never going to win any award!

The movie is "inspired" from so many foreign movies, and they didn't get their facts correct. I'm glad that the NA saw all of these because only in Bollywood would such a movie be hyped more than the Kahaanis, Vicky Donors, Paan Singh Tomars, and English Vinglishes.

Honestly, I thought that the awards were well chosen and well deserved. Annu Kapoor was the reason Vicky Donor became a hit, Paan Singh Tomar deserves all the kudos it gets...how many people here have even watched it? Good choices overall.

Like Someone said, we need this kind of impartial jury each time for selection of Indian awards. Screen awards used to be good but now almost all of them have gone the Filmfare route of pandering to the star quotient than actual performance in a movie.

Maybe for the music and cinematography..Barfi didnt desrve to win in any other categories

Most of the winners this yr were totally deserving ones

Barfi is a dull film, it has some nice moments, overall it never picks up. The fact that is plagiarizing should be an automatic exemption. Lazy writing is all it is, they could of easily wrote something simpler or fresh, instead they chose to copy and paste scenes.


I don't know why Bollywood expects to win at the Oscars. How much credit do they give to Hollywood movies at their award functions? Hollywood movies rake in a lot of money in India, tons of people go seem them and no award is given for best Hollywood film.

They must not know what kind of movies would make better Oscar contenders. Paan Singh Tomar should have been their choice for this year. Irfan Khan starred in Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pi, what better choice than Paan Singh?
