SP was behaving in a very rational manner in today's epi until he made that suicide threat.
He was very rational and assertive when he took control of AarYa's situation in SM. He was the ultimate partiarch when he confronted G3 and corrected the wrong done by her.
He set aside his pride when he explained to Yash that he was not responsible for Akaash's plight and accepted his mistake.
He was the astute father when he sorted the current storm in SM by handing over his property and business to Yash. He proudly acknowledging Yash's effort in running the business and expressed his confidence that Yash would be fair in sharing his all with his brothers.
However in spite of all SP's honest declarations when Yash refused to stay and take over SP's property and business - SP lost it. Some how the chaos and turmoil caused by G3, Ak-Ish and his own guilt (over his past mistakes) caught up with him and he lost it. Like the straw that broke the camel's back Yash's calm refusal caused SP to emotionally snap - SP threatened to kill himself if Yash refused to do his bidding. At that point SP under emotional meltdown was behaving as if Yash was responsible for the pressure and angst within him.
SP by holding the loaded gun against his forehead seemed to tell Yash "If you really cared whether I lived or died you would do as I say" and/or "You make me want to die" . In other words whether SP lives or dies is conditional on Yash's response and/or decision. This is unfair to Yash and to me signifies SP's emotional meltdown/breakdown.
I think SP's suicide threat speaks volumes as to the enormous (albeit silent) impact that G3 behavior and AarYa's maltreatment has had on him.
As an aside BTW: Can someone please tell me where was BUA today?
