Chapter 1- Our first meeting.
In the woods of the dense forest which was far off from the busy and the buzzed city of New York, their lived a young, beautiful girl called Kumud. She had a charm on her face and grace in her style. She loved everyone. She was just like the fairy tale protagonists with a lively and chirpy behavior, with sweet and kind attitude.
Once, a group of young men were out for hunting. Saraswatichandra, one of them, was the most passionate hunter. And due to this, he got lost in the forest and forgot his way back to the city. The sun was all set to hide and this man had no idea where he was proceeding.
Somehow, maybe because of destiny, he reached the place where Kumud used to live with her small family.
When Saraswatichandra reached the place, he could see no one. The sun had already set and it was dark. He heard some weird noise and took his rifle out but before he could analyze what was going around, he was hit by something very hard on his head and the next moment, everything was darker.
When he came to his conscious he realized that few people had trapped him with strong ropes. The most elderly amongst them came towards Saraswatichandra.
"Who are you and what are you doing in this place." Before Saraswatichandra could speak a word, Kumud entered.
"Bapuji, look at his clothes, he is a hunter! He wishes to kill our dear animals. He is a killer, a murderer."
"Oh! Was it your animal? I really didn't know that it was your pet. I am really sorry.",Saraswatichandra said.
"Sorry!!" Kumud turned towards Saraswatichandra and looked into his eyes. For a moment she paused. She had fell into his glittering eyes. Then she resumed. "How dare you say that? What do you city people think? You'll kill our animals and say sorry and, and that's it, over?"
"Kumud calm down. I'll talk to this stranger you need not take worries."
"No Bapuji, I must continue." She was enraged. She came to her Bapuji and in a painful voice she said, "This time I'm not letting these people go so easily. This time, I'll teach a lesson to all such city people."
"Dear Kumud beta! You do whatever you wish to but look at the sky. It's too late now. I think you should sleep now."
"Sleep..."Bapuji interrupted in between.
"Kumud, wait till the morning. Till then even I'll figure out about what we should do with this guy."
Kumud went towards the veranda. After this conversation, Saraswatichandra felt like going back into unconsciousness. All the night he sat mystified about the girl. He felt as if there were some connection between them. There was something that made him feel like he knew Kumud very well. But he was tensed about the old man's decision. He was a bit upset that his friends didn't notice his absence. It was a bad day for Saraswatichandra but there was also, relief in his mind. At least he had got a safe place to sleep. He felt the cool breeze and soon fell asleep.
