She stormed out of the office, not really believing how she could even have thought for one second that the great ACP Arjun would even listen to her and even accept to help her. On the contrary he had heaved lots of insults on her and her character. She didn't regret it even one second that she had slapped him. She went outside and saw Aryan struggling and shouting so much at the man holding him. She went to take Aryan back, meanwhile observing that man, till she realized that he was the chief of ETF. She almost felt like laughing at the face Rathore was making while holding the baby. The chief of ETF looked absolutely scared of a small baby.
Rathore didn't believe it when Arjun just dumped that baby in his arms and took that lady with him in his office. "I'll make you pay for this very dearly Arjun!" Rathore said to himself. He looked around for Neha or any other person who could come and help him, but unfortunately everyone had as if completely and literally disappeared. Everyone was ignoring him.
"What the'" Rathore said and was going to swear, when he realized that a baby was in his arms and stopped.
He looked at the angry bundle in his arms, he had no idea how to make the baby quiet, "Shhhssshhh baby, come on baby. A baby shouldn't cry' A person must be strong in life, so baba nahin rothe'" he was saying to the baby. Anyone listening to him would have cracked up with laughter. Rathore was actually expecting a baby to understand all these complex things. He started to sway the baby in his arms, but nothing helped at all. The baby wasn't stopping at all. He looked completely helpless when suddenly he heard a slap sound, and after a few seconds he saw that girl getting out of Arjun's office and coming towards him. He looked at her as if she was his savior, and quickly gave her back the baby.
"Thanks," she said and gave him a sweet smile. Though she knew this man didn't know how to look after a baby, he had actually handled the baby as if he was a very fragile thing. She then turned and went quickly away. She was actually running to get away from this building. She realized that she had dared come to a lion's den and slapped him, what if Arjun arrested her for assault. She took the first rickshaw she got and returned home.
Arjun didn't believe what had just happened. A strange and insignificant girl came to his office, created lots of turmoil in everyone's work, and especially in his life, slapped him and had already disappeared. He held his hand to his cheek, which was very hot from the impact of her hand. He went to check in a mirror in the washroom, and was angry to see that actually his cheeks held her finger marks and was very red. He was very angry, he'd make sure that this girl pay this very dearly. He had just gotten out of the washroom, when he saw Rathore enter his office. Rathore was going to scream at Arjun for daring to give him a baby, when his eyes fell on Arjun's cheek. Though he tried desperately, he couldn't stop himself in the end, and started to laugh. Arjun glared at Rathore, which made Rathore try to control his laughter.
"And here I was going to bit your head off, but I guess I prefer holding a baby, than getting slapped by a girl, that too in your own office! Wow, she was a cyclone. I wouldn't mind meeting her in future," Rathore said all the while laughing and went away leaving an even angrier Arjun.
Just how can a girl dare slap him! This was the first time in his life. And now that he realized it, he didn't even know her name nor address. What if that baby was really Shree's baby? Who cares what type of woman she was, the matter was that if that baby really was his nephew, he couldn't let him stay with such a woman.
"Shit, how do I look for her now?" he shouted at himself. But first he needed some answers, and he also needed to dig slightly in Shree's past. He tried calling Shree, but Shree's number was unreachable.
After one week
Riya didn't know to do anymore. She hadn't been able to get any job, and then all her money was almost over. The money she had saved for the rent was also almost up, because Aryan had fallen ill during the past few days, and she had used all her savings on him and the medicines. She had just fed Aryan some milk, and her baby was now sleeping like an angel in his cradle. She heard some noises in her stomach, she was really very hungry, but she'd have to wait till diner now. She had greatly reduced her eating so that she could feed Aryan for some more days. But now she was getting defeated more with time. She could return home, but how would she explain Aryan to her parents. And then she'd have to tell them the truth about Gia, but then Gia's parents were their neighbours, how would she deal with them. But unfortunately she didn't have any choice now. She'd try her luck a few more days, and then if she still didn't have any choice, she'd have to return back to her village.
All her thoughts and planning were disturbed by someone knocking on her door. Oh no, what if it was the landlord. She was supposed to pay the rent, but she didn't have any money left now. What will she do now? She decided not to open the door, but the person was very adamant and kept on knocking on her door. She sighed heavily and went to open the door. She had just opened the door, when she felt herself looking in a pair of cold eyes. "Oh no, not him," she thought to herself, and immediately try to close the door on his face. But she had forgotten that he was an ACP, and he had anticipated this, and had already put his foot to prevent her. She took some steps backwards and had no choice but to let him enter in her apartment. Her apartment which before had looked adequate for her and Gia, now looked so small when he entered inside and closed the door behind him.
A few days earlier
Though the first day, he had been very angry at that girl, but as days passed his anger had diminished and he now only wanted to find that girl and the baby now. So he had started to dig out things about Shree's past, and with Neha's help had also hacked Shree's working PC to have some information. At first they didn't get anything about her, but then after digging even more deeper, finally they got some pictures, in which there were two girls with Shree in the middle, upon going more in details he was told that their names were Riya and Gia. And finally after one week, he had gotten their address, though till now he didn't know who was Riya and who was Gia. He had also used his contacts and queried all hospitals and clinics till he got a copy of that baby's birth certificate, where the mother's name was written Gia and father's name was Shree Rawte. He had got the biggest shock in his life when he read that certificate. He couldn't understand why Shree had lied so much and hidden from him such a big truth. And also despite trying to call Shree, he hadn't been able to get Shree at all. But with all the information he had, he now knew that this woman wasn't lying, and there was a very big chance that Aryan really was Shree's baby. Till Shree was back, and he could really confirm this, Arjun preferred to have Aryan with him.
Thus today Arjun had left office a bit early, and went to look for Gia and Aryan. He found the apartment after some time. He got down from his SUV, and checked on which floor they lived, the 7th floor. He took the stairs, since it appeared that the lift wasn't working. Till now whatever he had seen didn't seem at all in Gia's favour. This apartment was a very bad one, the people living close to her also looked lousy, while he was climbing the stairs, he met drugged, drunk and suspicious people. Finally he reached her floor, and taking his courage he knocked on the door. He waited for some time, but nothing, so he kept on knocking till finally he heard the door being opened.
