Sanjay Gadhvi's Dhoom broke all box office recor-ds and, not surprisingly, the sequel is expected to be another blockbuster. Reports have it that bikes will not be the centre of attraction this time round, but Sanjay brushes off all the rumours. "The basic formula and feel of the film is same as Dhoom. The film is complete fun and a roller-coaster ride with a lot of adrenaline rush. But this time the action is on a much bigger scale. Whether there will be bikes or not, I cannot reveal. It is for the audience to find out," says Sanjay.

Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, who played pivotal roles in Dhoom, have been retained, but this time Hrithik, Aishwarya and Bipasha have also been added to the cast. "Abhishek and Uday are the Mel Gibson and Danny Glover of my film. We have retained all the technicians since they understand my need. The heroines especially have been given the hot, cool, sexy and vibrant looks by our creative designer Anaita Shroff Adjania."

According to Sanjay, the chemistry between all the three lead actors produces fireworks in the film. "If Abhishek is a cool police officer, Hrithik personifies the anti-hero. Dhoom 2 is a new generation film. It has everything — a good storyline, pacy screenplay, good looking boys, sensuous girls, techno music and most importantly, a setting that relates with today's audience," reveals Sanjay. Speculations are rife that Sanjay is planning a sequel Dhoom III already. "These are just speculations that I am not even aware of. Dhoom is owned by Aditya Chopra and he can make sequels forever. As for me, I just hope that the film does well this time too," he wraps up.

Tusshar Kapoor is in Cape Town shooting for Lovely Singh's Kya Love Story Hai. But apart from the beauty of the city, there's something else that has caught Tusshar's fancy. No, we are certainly not talking about any girl. "Believe it or not, it's a gym," Tusshar laughs. For the uninformed, Tusshar and the entire unit of Kya Love Story Hai have been put up in The Village Lodge. "The lodge has beautifully villas. And I am put up in one of them," he informs, further adding "The Village Lodge also has a gymnasium that I am completely mad about. It's so spacious that it has to be seen to be believed. It is spread over many square feet, but it has the best of equipments for body building."

In fact, the minute Tusshar gets free from his shooting schedule, the first thing that he does is rush to the gym. "If I am not on the sets the unit members know where to find me — at the gym. The ambience in the gymnasium inspires you to work on your body. It is that fabulous," he says. Tusshar plans to visit Cape Town once again only for the gym. "The day I decide to take a break from work, I will pack my bags and come here. I plan to visit this city only for this gym," he adds. Now, that's what we call the true love affair, wotsay Tusshar?

Call it the filmmakers's day out. Bollywood directors are no longer content calling the shots behind the camera. So, what kicked off with Subhash Ghai is fast spreading its wings. Anurag Kashyap, for one, has signed up Rajkumar Santoshi for his film No Smoking. And Santoshi is playing a pivotal role in the film. He will play a strange and talkative doctor who persuades John Abraham to quit smoking.

That's not all. Munnabhai, better known as Sanjay Dutt, is also about to play the character of Sanjay Gupta in Gupta's next film based on his real life incidents. In the past, suave Karan Johar, too, has appeared in Sujoy Ghosh's Home Delivery. Now the talented director is set to do a cameo in Salaam-e-Ishq.

Beggars can't be choosers," is the clich that every budding actor on the block mouths on role selections at the outset of their career. But soon the tables turn in their favour when they lodge a couple of hits at the box office. The latest buzz doing the rounds is Hrithik Roshan's much speculated Rs 35-crore deal notched up with Anil Ambani's Adlabs.

According to media reports, Roshan junior has been signed up for a three-film contract worth Rs 12 crore per project. Retorting at the query, Manmohan Shetty, CEO, Adlabs, outrightly thrashes any such developments in progress. "It's nothing but over-hyped media speculations that snowball rumours into facts. If something has to happen, it will definitely happen and the declaration will be made at the right time," he said, neither confirming nor denying the issue.

News is rife that noted director Madhur Bhandarkar has also parked himself with a production house for a trilogy, which includes his yet to be released Traffic Signal. Even filmmaker Vipul Shah has been signed up for eight films at Rs 200 crore and Ram Gopal Varma for 10 films at Rs 100 crores respectively with the Adlabs.

Siddharth Roy Kapoor, marketing head and vice president of UTV, reasons, "Nevertheless, if the saleability of a star commands a certain value and the market dynamics justify it, then there's no issue on that," he says. Supporting Hrithik's great business decision, recently King Khan Shah Rukh was quoted saying, "Beyond the price factor, what's wonderful about the deal is that an actor gets the freedom to choose the film he wants to do over a stipulated phase." So, next time if you hear a star's secretary nagging, just think before you call him pricey.

Films or no films, Neha Dhupia is a busy girl these days with item songs and advertisements. Now the model-turned-actress is set to do an item number in Mahendra Dhariwal's Jimmy And Johny. In the past, the former Miss India did an item song and brief role in Priyadarshan's Garam Masala. For the uninitiated, Jimmy And Johny stars Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu and Kim Sharma. Earlier titled Nehle Pe Dehle, the film has been stuck since the past four years.

Meanwhile, the actress is busy with several films — Dus Kahaniyaan, 1:40 Ki Last Local, Delhii Heights and Shoot Out At Lokhandwala. And the actress is, not surprisingly, excited about Shoot... "I am playing Sanjay Dutt's wife. My character is very simple and a complete home bird," says Neha. Then there is Anand Kumar's Delhii Heights. "It's a special film since I have shot mostly in Delhi for it," she adds. On the brandwagon, Neha recently finished doing a American TV commercial for a new line of luxury skincare products. Besides, she also became the brand ambassador for Police, the international eyewear and watch company.

Everyone is talking about Manish Malhotra these days because of two ladies — Rani Mukherjee and Sakshi Tanwar. People want to know how he is going to be styling one of television's most loved bahus and if he really had a fallout with his movie star client. The designer talks about how these "fallout" rumours with Rani are silly and what a challenge it has been to style Parvati bhabhi.

On Sakshi

Manish reveals this is not the first time he has styled for a TV star, in fact he did Neha Bamb's transformation in Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai. But Sakshi's new look was a tricky assignment because, "We were showing her to be a much older woman. Usually when you do someone's makeover you make them look young, sexy and hip-hop. But here it was a very classy, subdued and sophisticated look as we are showing an extremely rich 60-year-old woman," reveals Manish.

Also since the character Parvati is so strong he had to give a look that people would love. In terms of freedom too Manish had to stick to certain boundaries because of the age factor and Sakshi's on-screen character, "Parvati is a very rooted, idealistic character. I have styled her like I have styled my clients from London and Antwerp," he says.

Elaborating more on the look Manish says, " I have used a lot of fabrics like chantelle lace and organza. Colours like aqua green, peach, champagne, powder blue and champagne gold are used and for jewellery I have used diamonds and pearls." For the sari blouse Manish has gone shorter on the sleeves. He says she suddenly couldn't go into a strappy or halter mode here. Sakshi Tanwar's new look will be unveiled on November 15 when Kahaani... takes another time leap.

On Rani

"This whole fallout rumour is the funniest thing I have ever heard. In fact from next week I am working on her clothes for a Nestle advert. Rani and I have both been laughing about this news," says the designer who introduced fashion to Bollywood. He also reveals that he couldn't do Babul since he was busy working for KANK at the time.

"It's now a new thing that you have directors and production houses who get their own designers. That's why you have an Aki Narula doing a Jhoom Bara Bar Jhoom and Don, but every actress has only wanted to work with me. I am the one who is responsible for Rani's metamorphosis in both Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Chalte Chalte too." The designer who still doesn't know how this news started making the rounds says he is least bothered by it.
