So before I go on, I will say this. I am gujarati so the way I analyze gujju shows and actors who play gujju characters is a bit more critical then most ppl.
Anyhow I may not post that much but lately seeing this show, watching GRs acting calibre has forced me to comment and applaud not only him but the whole shows and cast.
I have watched GR since he came back in 2005 in baa bahu baby (one of my all time fav shows on tv) GR was supposed to be the prince charming in that show and he did shine through despite the show being full of thr who's who of good actors. However he was never appreciated as much as many of the current breed of actors. He was not as well known either. Then came a few other shows and I did not hear too much abt him but now his current hosting gig that made him and this show has really shot his popularity. My point is well first of all, I cannot believe someone who has been underappreciated till has suchh amazing acting chops. I mean I know the director deserves a lot of credit but to portray so much emotions via his eyes in such a subtle manner. The emotions are not over expressed but are shwon in such perfect combination depth and subtlety. I really cannot think of anyone else to pull this of.
And another thing as someone who has seen him along the years, it really makes me proud to see him finally getting this recognition. I feel like I have almost as viewer been a part of his journey. Its also inspiring to understand that hard work and dedication will be appreciated one day or the other. đ
Moving on, I also have a somewhat superficial comment to make, as much as I love this show I wish there was bit more gujjuness in his charecterization. That is it..
Today's episode really takes the cake. Personally when I critique or observe actors I love to observe their change of emotion based on a situation. Done too fast, it looks rehearsed, done too slow and it looks fake. But gr was amazing.
The way his face changed when he realized what lake it was or even when he saw the kite he was holding in the end.
Saras is man after every womanKs heart. A confident amazing man with patience,values and integrity. Dig deeper and you see the devils he suppresses every day. A man who unconsiously seeking justifaction and assurance about all his actions. Its almost a privledge to play this chracter and I think GR knows this and desrves it. So here is to an amazing casting/directing done by SLB, great acting and great characters to make this iconic show possible đ 𼹠đ
