Can Salman Khan ACT?

The scale of LONDON DREAMS is gigantic and the execution of concerts [it's about a band] sweeps you off your feet. In terms of execution, it wouldn't be erroneous to state that LONDON DREAMS is amongst Vipul Shah's most accomplished works to date. Also, it boasts of incredible performances by Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. But there are hiccups too and it's these deficiencies that bog the film down! On the whole, LONDON DREAMS has superb performances from its principal cast and several emotionally-charged sequences as its two trump cards. But its biggest drawback is its climax and also the music, which is the weakest link of the movie.

the technical flourish and the lavish canvas fail to deliver what's promised. While London Dreams may have liberally borrowed from the classic Amadeus (Milos Forman's take on Mozart and Salieri's lives), it comes across as one of those 'Made-in-China' copies. There's nothing inside.But London Dreams belongs to Salman. And though this becomes a problem for Devgn in the film and he plots to ruin him, there is precious little he can do about it in the theatres. One of the characters say about Salman in the film, "He's not a better talent, he's got adaa (style)". And that kind of sums it up.You may like London Dreams for its beautiful by Browse to Save">frames, some paisa-vasool moments between Salman and Devgn, a good background score and catchy songs. For the rest, you need willing suspension of disbelief. And large doses of it.

Finally it's the performances that make London Dreams rock. Ajay Devgn's restrained intensity perfectly complements the contrasting flamboyance of Salman Khan. Salman takes the lead in the second half but at no point do the performances overshadow each other. Watch out for the scene when Ajay Devgn, seized by guilt pangs, whips himself for his premeditated wrongdoings. Salman puts in a lot of heart in his act and his frivolous nonchalance never makes the drama go overboard. He is likeable as a flirt trying to woo Asin and his doped act in the final reels is compelling.
In times when most films are turning out to be nightmares, London Dreams is a decent entertainer and has its heart at the right place. For its wonderful performances, rocking music and terrific chemistry between Salman and Ajay Devgn, London Dreams is worth a watch.
