1 or 2 reviews doesn't change the FACT that majority has trashed his acting. Just check out the reviews of his movies, read all the reviews and you will get the result that majority finds salman khan synonym with the tag: non-actor
London Dreams, directed by Vipul Shah, is a frustratingly foolish film about foolish people. It's the kind of film whose central conflict could be instantly resolved if the characters concerned simply sat down and had a chat. For its dim-witted writing and sloppy direction, London Dreams is ultimately a tiresome watch. I'm going with two out of five and at best an average rating for director Vipul Shah's London Dreams. If you must, watch it for Salman Khan who's turned buffoonery into a bonafide acting style. It's the only thing that'll make you smile in this sad, sad film.Visit Site for More
the plot of London Dreams is completely simplistic and linear, often bordering on the implausible. Devgn's journey from Bhatinda to London, his formation of a rock band with a bunch of stragglers, his rise to popularity and his sudden climactic outburst lack all depth. Salman's fall from grace is kiddish too.But there's a lot that works in the film's favour. Topping by Browse to Save">the list are the performances by both Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan who once again share a scintillating chemistry after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. It's refreshing to see Devgn return to his angry young man mould as Arjun, a role he's played to perfection in films like Company and Omkara. Salman, as Mannu, the libidinous village yokel, reprises his brattish avtar, playing to the gallery with his throwaway lines and his devil-may-care attitude. Nevertheless, watch it for the Devgn-Salman thunder and for the simple reason that this is definitely one of Vipul Shah's better films.Visit Site for More
Visit Site for MoreThis film is about by Browse to Save">relationships and tends to get very real and intense, in the post-interval portions specifically. The scale of LONDON DREAMS is gigantic and the execution of concerts [it's about a band] sweeps you off your feet. In terms of execution, it wouldn't be erroneous to state that LONDON DREAMS is amongst Vipul Shah's most accomplished works to date. Also, it boasts of incredible performances by Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. But there are hiccups too and it's these deficiencies that bog the film down! On the whole, LONDON DREAMS has superb performances from its principal cast and several emotionally-charged sequences as its two trump cards. But its biggest drawback is its climax and also the music, which is the weakest link of the movie.
Visit Site for Morethe technical flourish and the lavish canvas fail to deliver what's promised. While London Dreams may have liberally borrowed from the classic Amadeus (Milos Forman's take on Mozart and Salieri's lives), it comes across as one of those 'Made-in-China' copies. There's nothing inside. But London Dreams belongs to Salman. And though this becomes a problem for Devgn in the film and he plots to ruin him, there is precious little he can do about it in the theatres. One of the characters say about Salman in the film, "He's not a better talent, he's got adaa (style)". And that kind of sums it up.You may like London Dreams for its beautiful by Browse to Save">frames, some paisa-vasool moments between Salman and Devgn, a good background score and catchy songs. For the rest, you need willing suspension of disbelief. And large doses of it.
Finally it's the performances that make London Dreams rock. Ajay Devgn's restrained intensity perfectly complements the contrasting flamboyance of Salman Khan. Salman takes the lead in the second half but at no point do the performances overshadow each other. Watch out for the scene when Ajay Devgn, seized by guilt pangs, whips himself for his premeditated wrongdoings. Salman puts in a lot of heart in his act and his frivolous nonchalance never makes the drama go overboard. He is likeable as a flirt trying to woo Asin and his doped act in the final reels is compelling.Visit Site for More
In times when most films are turning out to be nightmares, London Dreams is a decent entertainer and has its heart at the right place. For its wonderful performances, rocking music and terrific chemistry between Salman and Ajay Devgn, London Dreams is worth a watch.
An ironic tale that represents a clash between ambition and friendship, somewhat like the far superior Amadeus, London Dreams is given a leg-up by a strong story let down in execution and technique. There are too many missing dimensions to the storyline, and Shah falters in developing situations and characters details even within 2 hours 30 minutes.Salman Khan steals the show. Controlled well by Shah, he delivers with spontaneity, lifting his scenes even if he is stuck with a character too good to be real.Visit Site for MoreRatings:3/5 Reviewer:Martin D Souza Site:Glamsham
In the first half, the script is hugely disappointing. There are instances of circumstances that make your jaw drop in disbelief. Thankfully, post interval the pieces are picked up and the script gets tighter. Mercifully, there is Salman Khan (Manu) to grab your attention, with a laudable performance. I'm no Salman Khan fan, but the way he has tackled this role is like he has put his whole life into it. The fun-loving Manu, Arjun's childhood friend steals the thunder from Arjun's nose with his performance, just as he does on stage during their concerts. If you are a Salman fan, this is one performance of his you have to watch.Vipul Shah has garnished the film with some convincing concert scenes but its Salman and Salman alone who turns the table for LONDON DREAMS and makes it worth a watch.
London Dreams is not your regular male bonding film. The friendship is a little more complex. Vipul takes his own time to establish the plot, giving equal attention to both his leading men. While the story is narrated throughAjay 's character, Salman steals the edge in few scenes. It's almost autobiographical, as Salman's superstardom is all about how he appeals to his fans. Be it the lighter portions initially or his troubled tryst with fame post interval, this is perhaps Salman Khan's best performance ever. The actor is completely in control and emotes like never before.Eventually London Dreams is all about the joy of watching Salman and Ajay's chemistry. Their star power makes up for all the flaws. Both have put their heart and soul into the film, delivering powerhouse, career defining performances.
