Dahanu: The excitement to meet actor Shah Rukh Khan made two minor girls from Hissar, Haryana, steal Rs15,000 and then hop into a Mumbai-bound train. Apart from meeting the actor, the girls also wanted to try the luck in TV serials. But luck did not favour them and both were arrested by Dahanu Government Railway Police. They have been sent to Bhiwandi's children remand home and will be soon be sent back to their hometown.Karishma Dharampal Rathod and her friend Manisha Ramavadh Saini, both are 17 years old and residents of Sabji Mandi Chowk area, in Hissar, Haryana. Students of class VIII from the same school, the girls are avid TV serial viewers. Recently, after watching Khan's Jab Tak Hain Jaan, they made up their mind to meet the actor. According to the police, Karishma stole Rs15,000 from her mother Mamta's cupboard when she had gone to the market. The girls reached New Delhi station, bought tickets for Mumbai Central and boarded Paschim Express. Karishma's father Dharampal registered a missing person's complaint after he realised that his daughter had run away with the cash. He approached the Hissar police who sent an alert across the country. The control room at Valsad alerted police officials about the possibility of the girls boarding Paschim Express, which had crossed Gujarat and entered Maharashtra. "When the train halted at Dahanu station, we conducted a thorough search in all the compartment. We saw two girls, who looked similar to the description we had received, and confronted them. Initially they fumbled while answering our questions, but from their body language we knew they were the same girls. On interrogating them, they said they were headed to Mumbai to meet relatives, but when a woman cop questioned them they revealed the truth," said an official from Dahanu GRP. "After taking their statements, we took them to Dahanu railway police station and informed one of the girl's uncle in Surat, who works in a diamond-cutting factory," said Pramod Davre, police inspector, GRP, Palghar. "The girls have revealed that they only wanted to meet the actor and wanted to try their luck for a role in TV serials. We are trying to counsel them by taking the help of a government psychiatrist," Davre added. "The girls will soon be reunited with their family in Haryana," said an official.
