Despite acting in two Telugu films, Shilpa Shinde preferred to act in television rather than struggle in films. "I realised that the TV industry is very huge. And the way it's growing, it's only going to get bigger. Also, with TV one gets to do many roles. But in films you have to wait for a long time before you can get any prominent roles. on Star One. The actor says that though she enjoyed her stint with Telugu films, she has not signed any more films down South. "But I have learnt a lot over there. The southern film industry is like an acting school. One gets to learn everything," she says. The actor says that though at present she is doing only one serial, she is happy with the kind of work she is doing. "We have a huge unit. So it is fun to be on the sets. In fact, we miss each other when we don't have to shoot," she says.
Her character, that of Meera is of a rebel. Does she identify with the character? "I am a bit of a rebel. But not without a cause," laughs Shilpa
