Now Rani gets ready to play a courtesan

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film 'Saawariya' which will mark the debut of Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam and Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir, will have Rani Mukherji making a very special appearance.

In a throwback to her last outing in 'Mangal Pandey —The Rising', Rani is expected to play the role of a tawaif again in this teenage romance. Bhansali is said to be planning a stunning song sequence with the actress.

After watching Aishwarya Rai's rather tepid portrayal in Umrao Jaan, Rani's fans probably can't wait to see how she works the charm as a courtesan.

But there's a bit of a surprise in store — the song on Rani is being choreographed by Shiamak Davar — in all likelihood his first such assignment. Though we'll admit the combo does sound a bit bizarre, we'll hold our verdict for now.
