PART 3

Riya sat in her car and drove to Global Hospital, Arjun the only thing on her mind now.

She parked her car in the parking lot and ran to the reception.

Riya: Excuse me, ETF officer ACP Arjun Rawte kahan hain?

Receptionist: Voh jinka accident hua hai? vo abhi ICU main hain. onka accident bahut bura hua hai. Shayad surgery karni pade.

Riya: kahan hain vo?

Receptionist: Aage se right phir third left.

Riya rushed without even saying thank you and the receptionist gave her "the look" from behind.

Riya reached the ICU corridor. Sameer and Aisha were standing beside each other, holding hands (😳). Sameer was staring down and Aisha was looking helplessly at him. Shree was sitting on the bench diagonally opposite to Samsha and Chotu was standing beside him. No one noticed that Riya had also reached there and even Riya didn't realise that they were there. She was staring continuously at the ICU door and was taking small steps towards it. Her heart was beating erratically and she failed to notice her surroundings. As she crossed Samsha and Shreetu, they looked up and saw her and also gave her hard glares. But she was oblivious to everything. She had now reached and stood in front of the small peep-hole (the kind we see in hospital ICUs, atleast on TV) looking inside. She stood staring at Arjun who was being nursed to close all the wounds. She saw doctors rushing around Arjun, trying to save him. Her eyes filled with tears and she felt a stab of pain at her heart. She closed her eyes and turned around, not being able to see him in this state.

Suddenly, she heard Sameer's voice,

Sameer: TUM yahan kya kar rahi ho?

Riya opened her eyes in shock and looked at him confused.

Sameer: maine poocha tum yahan kya kar rahi ho? Tumhe kisne haq diya yahan aane ka?

Riya: Sameer, ye tum...

Shree: Sir bilkul theek hain. Tumhe yahan aane ka haq kisne diya? Aur tumhe kaise pata chala k Arjun yahan hai? Maine to tumhe nahi bataya.

Riya: Jab tumhe vo phone aaya to main vahan se guzar rahi thi. aur maine sun liya.

Shree: ACP RIYA MUKHERJEE! Agar maine tumhe nahi bataya to oska matlab ye k main nahi chahta k tum yahan aao aur mere dost ki zindagi ko aur kharaab karo!

Riya: shree ye tum kya keh rahe ho?

Shree: OH PLEASE! Ye jo bhi hua hai na, ye sab tumhaari vajah se hua hai. Tumne realise bhi kiya k TUMHAARI vajah se Arjun ko kitna dukh hua hai? vo vahan se nikla to SIRF tummhaari vajah se, aur phir ye accident... AGAR Arjun ko Kuch bhi hua to oski zimmedaar sirf tum hogi!!! SAMJHI?

Aisha who had been standing behind all this while, noticed how white Riya's face had become. She went ahead and kept a hand on the angry Shree's shoulder.

Aisha: Riya mere saath chalo. ABHI

Riya looks at Aisha's face and one look at her told her that there was no backing out. it wasn't OFFICER Aisha speaking. It was the stubborn friend Aisha, in front of whom Riya had never won. So she followed Aisha out quietly, giving the hot and angry Shree and Sameer, time to calm down.

Outside, Aisha stood facing Riya.

Aisha: So, Riya.. Ab waqt ho gaya hai humaari LONG DUE Talk ka..

And Riya winced...!!!

omg shree and sam talked so rudely with her but they were concerned for their friend... love the way aisha comes in between to help riya and to calm shree and sam...

Hey! Just read all the parts!

I absolutely loved the twist with riya being the female Arjun and arjun as the happy go lucky guy!
