k-kimya – Nice post. I completely agree with you and that also change the meaning of his name too. I'm a muslim who is born and raised in USA (and have that accent too) but never heard anyone pronouns Asad and Ayaan like that…😆

I just don't understand. Why does everyone keep bashing Asad. What did he do today? He clearly doesn't remember the night and Zoya detracted him from something very important to him, so he just lashed out. Also he did not overly react. As to what he said at night it was self defense, he wants to stop thinking about Zoya but can't. Remember love for him equals hurt and pain. He hugged a friend having no Ida Zoya was there as well and it was she who misunderstood. Can we for once enjoy the serial without suggesting Zoya to walk away at slightest provocations. He loves her and he as changed loads for her, so as she. No love story is without complications or misunderstandings and the point is to stay put and not walk away when going gets tough. Ayan might make Zoya laugh and smile, but Asad is the stability she needs in life. He s the matured adult (not always) who takes care of his own and I for one hope they can sort out their differences and love conquers all. From personal experience ego, self respect, dignity are not never strong enough to keep apart 2 people who are truly in love with each other.

Asad crossed all limits of decency today and nothing and I mean nothing excuses this kind of vile behaviour in my opinion...shame on you Asad.

Take this from a Salwaar Kameez Wali ( I only wear Salwaar Kameez ).

Sorry for the rant.

That is exactly my point...where is this limit?
And why is it that in all these shows the writers - majority of them male, BTW - allow the male lead to spout all kinds of demeaning, insulting, mocking, and derogatory comments to the females, and the female lead ALWAYS forgives?!!!

I have yet to see a female lead doing that to a male lead - attack his ego, his family, his culture, his antecedents, etc. - and not be depicted as either a vamp, a biyaatch, a ball-buster, a cold business-type woman, etc.

Me thinks there's a serious case of low self-esteem and a large helping of fear of truly strong women in all these male writers.

In the PH's previous show, IPK, the other girl, Laavunya, stuck around for about 6 months.

Yikes!
Goodbye higher TRPs!

Oh well then this girl is probably here to stay longer than that I guess because she has lot more work to get done before she reaches engagement stage with Asad.

But I think somehow they will manage to bring ASYA closer even with Tanveer there because if they make Asad ignore Zoya for Tanveer then its truly going to be- Hasta la Vista high TRP's for them!

From my POV and from many whom I have counseled, if there is no self-respect and dignity and a healthy (not overdone) amount of ego in both members of a couple, the relationship is never on an even keel. It is never love.

Rin,

This PH is regurgitating all the high-TRP scenes from its previous shows...
I can name many of them, including the latest of Bhaang influenced 'acknowledgement of feelings' and subsequent convenient pretended memory-lapse.

Based on that observation, you are likely right... considering Tunveer may also have more of a role than just getting engaged to him.
She has to get him to like her, get engaged to her, display her true colors in bits and spurts to a till-then oblivious Mr. Khan and then have him break it off. Whew! Quite a roster of tasks to accomplish.
