I have seen quite a few posts on this forum talking about Bhansali's mistakes, and advising him on how to improve whatever he has shown. I am in NO way bashing them, and I do agree with some points, and I believe that to make this show good, everybody should be allowed to advocate their opinion, so here's mine 😃 Please do read.
I think the sets and costumes and the direction is beautiful and extremely classy. I don't understand what lack of chemistry some people are talking about, considering that Saras and Kumud have not even met each other yet 😕 Plus, not every story has to be "modern" and depict our world today. There are enough shows on Indian TV that do that! Plus, the whole idea and the motivation to make this TV show, for Bhansali, WAS the novel, so obviously we'll be shown an element of history and culture, which I think is beautiful.
Apart from this, the only complaint I have with the show is that some things are a bit too cliched, and could be developped by Bhansali (I am not talking about the main storyline here). And as I haven't read the book, I am not enjoying the two-faced woman who wears the white sari (sorry forgot her name). Also, Sunny the sidekick is not doing it for me..not Sunny himself, but the way he is portrayed and treated by other characters.
