Almost five decades back, the production house B R Films began their odyssey with 'Ek Hi Raasta' starring Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Meena Kumari. What followed henceforth are one hit films after other, crediting the production house and establishing its name in all quarters. Apart from rendering hit films, B R Films has also been associated with social relevant films, laced with some message and their forthcoming 'Baabul' also falls in the same category. After 'Baghban' director Ravi Chopra, son of B R Chopra brings 'Baabul' starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and John Abraham. The supporting cast of the film includes Om Puri, Aman Verma, Parmeet Sethi, Rajpal Yadav and Smita Jaykar. Babul tells the tale of a man who tries to bring happiness back into his daughter-in-law life after his son's death. Ravi Chopra wanted Kajol to play the main lead, but she couldn't commit herself to the project, and Rani Mukherjee was finalized for the role. Preity Zinta was also considered for the lead role. Aadesh Shrivastav has composed the music of the film. The film is expected to arrive at the theatres on December 8th. |
