I see what you mean! But I for some reason think that Abbedon episode was more to introduce the whole idea of the Man of Letters than reintroduce the whole deal with Lucifer. It is quite possible though that we do see more of Lucifer.

Well, Crowley is desperate because obviously he knows that he's not the favorite person of the boys. And if they can find a way to banish him from earth, they will. Now that they have a demon tablet, it's more than likely that they will close the gates of hell forever and he won't be able to make any of those deals and get more people in hell again. That's a good enough reason to be desperate enough to stop them.

Well, it's not really petty trying to protect yourself if you're gonna have to leave Earth forever... It's really here that he runs his business. I like Crowley because of so many faces he has. He's an intelligent villain but he is the King of Hell. He and his follower demons make deals to get more souls for hell. For him, it's himself above anything else. If to get his interests, he has to join hands with enemies, he does it, which is really why he has helped the boys in the past. However, you must have noticed that he always works for his interests only and does bail out if something goes against the way he thought they would. I'm not sure how much there is to Crowley than meets the eye, but he is a villain, nevertheless.

first of all... when sam says SOB... i went.. i reckon u have to know abt the nazi history to fully understand this epi... i was full on confused when sam starts talking abt nazi necromancers, the thule society and the history connected with them... ( garth even asks whether its tool society 🤣)
The man says that he thought that they shared a moment back at the library quad and continues to flirt with Dean, which makes him very, very comfortable.
i loved dean's expression in the scene described above... 🤣 he went from to to almost proud... 😆 was thrilled that he was getting attention from both the sexes...
i loved this scene... especially dean's * its a start..* to the thule's * u will never kill us* 👏
yeah, the ending was a bit grim, but nonetheless... it was awesome..
