Salman Khan to promote fairness cream

It was just the other day Salman had us believe that he only endorses brands he uses, unlike other superstars who seem to be swayed by the scent of money. But with news of him taking up an offer to promote a fairness cream, it seems Salman wants us to believe that he uses it every now and then, after all actors do need to look fair and handsome all the time.

It is rumoured that the actor has been paid a whopping endorsement fee to take up the offer as the brand is a new entrant in the market and is looking to compete with the product that his arch rival Shah Rukh Khan endorses. With this deal, Salman has joined the likes of Shahid Kapoor and John Abraham besides SRK, as celebrities who endorse fairness creams.

With a debate raging over the morality of advertising products that exploit the 'skin colour' psychology of their target audience, we wonder if Sallu has made the right move.

I find it really offensive when it's shown that a person's success depends on how fair his/her skin is 🤪
