Today's episode has several high points (Femme Fatale Ishita is #9):
1. The portrayal of G3's shock at the entry of "the other woman" into her home and their face off.
G3 is appalled that Aarti is inviting Radha into the house following the graha pravesh of Ak-Ish. Her immediate outburst of protest is countered by Radha's reply that she wants to ensure that her sons are happy.
2. This can be called as the response of an insecure mother (Radha) or that of shrewd and calculating woman (Radha). In any event the man of the moment was Yash who had the presence of mind to reassure G3 by clutching on to her hand while saying that she was, is and will always be his mum or Maa while Radha will be the Badi Maa whose blessings he seeks. Yes, Yash did invite Radha inside SM to stay (and from Bua's phone conversation in the precap it is apparent that she will be living in SM) but he did so while defining the place that G3 holds in his heart and in his life!.
3. Net result neither G3 nor Radha lost in the face off - the winner was Yash. G3 won in that Yash chose her as mom and Radha won in that Yash permitted her entrly to SM without any hiccups! For a moment right after G3's remark it did appear as if Akaash was getting ready to blow his fuse -- until Yash took control!
4. SP maintained his distance from "woh aurat and her beta" and did not make an appearance in today's episode.
5. Bua got her word in and got a dig at G3 and Radha while explaining to Yash (and incidently Ak-Ish) that Radha is G3's sautan (or husband's second wife).
I found this unnecessarily harsh. Radha was never married to SP and SP has clearly declared that his affair with Radha 31 years ago was a fleeting weakness. So why is Bua deliberatly rubbing salt in G3 and Yash's wounds by calling Radha a sautan? Why is she exalting Radha's hold over SP and her position in SM to that of a second wife? Dear Readers, please note she called Radha wife not a short-term mistress!
6. Worse still in the precap Bua is seen going viral with the information of SP's second wife living under the same roof as G3 at SM. Oh and of course that Radha's najayaz (Bua we know he no longer is najayaz) son and DIL are living in SM too!!
So here the CVs are showing us that Bua is back to her dirty machinations. She is now gossiping and bad mouthing SP and G3 -- the family whose unity and well being is supposedly of primary importance to her!!
7. Next the CVs expose us to the rigid and stuck-up personality of Pankaj - who does not feel comfortable mingling with Ak or getting to know him. Yash is the facilitator trying to get the 2Ps to accept Ak into the fold. I must admit the CVs did a good job in portraying that Yash had no specific plan and that he was going about his job by the seat of his pants. Yash was on a mission and all that mattered to him was to get moving with the job at hand.
Prateek is amenable to Yash's request because he wants him to know that he loves him and always will.
Pankaj is not amenable to Yash's request because he is not as yet comfy with the idea of Akash being a member of the family. He knows that Ak is poles apart from them and so resists Yash but finally gives in to please Yash.
8. The four brothers get together and drink. I can see why they chose to bond with Ak over a glass of "videsi daru" (foreign liquor) -they wanted to avoid awkwardness and loosen up. Besides real men drink na?
Any one with a calm mind would have taken Yash and 2Ps gesture for a "bonding" signal --- but not Ak His insecurities, upbringing, and lack of class have just been highlighted to him by his biwi Ishita and his ego has been so badly bruised that he takes out his anger (at Ishita) on his 3 brothers. (Dear Readers do you wonder why 1HappyGirl and I refer to Ishita as PV's Lady Macbeth?) Fortunately for the 2Ps Yash manages the situation. However they are aghast at Ak's ability to drown the liquor at one go while they nurse and consume the same amount in perhaps an hour or two!!
9. Coming to our Vamp Ishita. It appears to me that our femme fatale has a case of fatal attraction. It is very clear that her target is Yash - is it the revenge of a woman scorned (recollect Yash rejected and abandoned her at the marriage mandap) or is it an unfulfilled sexual attraction for a man who was to be hers and is now out of bounds?
Ishita artfully plays the conservative new-bahu role desperately trying to mold herself in her new sasural in front of Aarti and Vidhi. She even convinces Aarti into forcing her accept the sari that Yash has specialy purchased for Aarti while maintaining a facade of innocence.
However to the viewer her obsession over Yash was a clear give away re: her mental state. Her prolonged gazing at AarYa's photograph followed by her glamorous and sexually aggressive interaction with Akash were clear indications of her emotional liability, impulsivity and fear of rejection and abandonment.
Further when Akash refuses Prateek's request to join the brothers for a get-together Ishita cleverly suggests that he wear Yash's clothing so as to look as "hot" as Yash - thereby getting Ak all riled up at Yash and walking out of the room seeking the company of his brother to avoid her sexual advances. My dear Readers our Lady Macbeth is slowly but surely working at her objective in turning her husband against Yash. This was shown again when she deliberately accosts Ak and ruffles his feathers so that he answers her gruffly. Yash pulls Ak up only to be reminded by Ak that the reason he married Ishita was because Yash abandoned her at the mandap.
No siree --- Ishita is not allowing Ak to have a smooth entry in SM. She is working hard at upsetting Yash's applecart and turning brother against brother while appearing to be the adarsh bahu, patni and devarani!!!
That's all folks from my end for today!!!
