Chennai Express to release this Eid

For the past three years, Salman Khan starrers have booked Eid as their release date. But this year, it will be the Shahrukh Khan starrer Chennai Express, directed by Rohit Shetty and costarring Deepika Padukone, that will release on Eid this year.

As per Mid Day, a source says, "Salman bhai had left his mark on the Eid date since the past three years, with Wanted, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger. This year, it could be SRK who could stake a claim to the date, which is also a holiday everywhere."

The source adds, "The release date of Salman's film is not fixed yet. Chennai Express, Rohit Shetty's film with SRK will release on Eid. This time instead of Salman, it will be SRK fans rushing to the theatre on Eid."

It will be interesting to see whether or not Salman Khan's next film (Mental) will still go ahead and set it's release date for Eid. If so, this would surely be one interesting box office battle!
