The evolving narrative in PR suggests to me that Arjun's glory days are behind him. Arjun is now firmly esconsced as the spurned lover, reluctant husband and (hopefully more) enthusiastic father. He is no longer involved with Purvi (who appears to be the new Archana) other than the embarrassingly longing looks he casts her way; his business dealings do not seem to be as relevant to the storyline (unless they somehow play into the Mittal storyline) and his role as the K and D family jaawai just does not seem that promising. Of course at some point the motherhood secret will explode and he, as the father, and the entire K and D families will be called upon to emote.

Onir, on the other hand, is the new 'Arjun'. First, he is paired with Purvi and while they lack the hyperbolic magic of the Arjun-Purvi pair, they make a solid and good-looking couple. In addition, there are other storylines (Mittal, his role as a physician in treating Ovi etc.) that will keep him in the spotlight in the near future. Most importantly, Shyamala-aunty mentioned that he is Ekta's new golden boy.

So as much as I loved Arjun-Purvi (and in fact they were the reason I really got into PR), I have happily shifted my loyalties to the new pair. It would be great if the audience and, most importantly, Purvi would also. After all, like someone else on this forum said, he would be an awesome catch for 99.999% of the eligible women and their families in the South Asian diaspora.

PS. I imagine this post will be flooded with 'ArVi forever' responses. And while I understand that that is the the sentiment du jour, I very much look forward to hearing about what users think about the relative importance of Arjun and Onir going forward.

I think Onir is really important to the story right now because of present circumstances and that is why he receives more screen time, but I think that, overall, both of them are important to the story 😊

Not sure at all. Onir is here to stay but does that mean Arjun is relegated to the background? I don't believe so, at least hope not. RD is absolutely awesome at expressing through his ever so mobile face (so is Onir as a matter of fact for conveying through his eyes) and if Arjun ends up as a spot boy, it is not only unfair to him but would not make sense to waste such talent.

While I initially wanted ARVI back together, I think now that it would be so unjust to Onir and would make Purvi out to be an ungrateful wretch which she is not. Yet the longing looks Arjun casts Purvi's way suggests their love story is not over or at least the CVs want to keep that drama line open, just in case.

Do not really want Ovi rewarded, this however reformed she is, she has not yet realized the enormity of her mistake or the painful sacrifice made by Purvi and/or Arjun.

I think your assumption that Arjun is over and is now just a sideline actor is not accurate. If nothing, it is just the fact that The writers are not stupid enough to waste the talent of Rithvik, who is definitely the better actor out there. Onir could be in the spotlight right now, which is fine, that is how these soaps work. But that does not mean other characters are of no importance or will not surface again. In a serial such as PR, where multiple stories and angles are possible, you never say never to any actor. :)
A friendly suggestion if I may. If you would like a healthy discussion here, mocking some fans that ur thread might be flooded with certain comments is not helpful. Is that really needed? I would think everyone on this forum has a right to their views and if some like to stuck to their convictions, their opinion should be respected and not made fun of. I hope this is taken in the spirit that is intended.
And, Onir does NOT have to be the next Arjun, he can be a hero by himself. As there can be only one Onir, similarly there can be only one Arjun :)

I agree with you... Onir should not be done wrong. He clearly stated that he is in love with Purvi. Why does he need to suffer? I was one that wanted ARVI back together, but honestly, in our cultural serials, how often do spouses get divorced? We should have realized that it was the end of ARVI when Arjun married Ovi.

There are two things that bother me though. 1. Will this whole thing with Onir and the selling of the organs mean that something will happen to Onir? 2. If ARVI was not going to get back together, why do they keep showing ARVI together on special shows/episodes, for example, the valentines episode.

Good point. Well taken.

By "Arjun", I meant the hero. In the same vein as I referred to Purvi as the new "Archana". Much like I don't think that Purvi and Archana could ever be "heroines" in the same way, I don't think that Arjun and Onir could either.
