Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan play pivotal roles in Apoorva Lakhia-directed movie Shootout At Lokhandwala .
Lakhia admits to be in absolute awe of Amitabh Bachchan. He called his last movie Ek Ajnabee a tribute to Big B's talent. The movie, however, fell flat at the box-office.
The filmmaker, known for his very snazzy style of direction, is nowadays shooting 'Shootout At Lokhandwala', which is based on real-life 14-hour encounter between cops and gangsters (from underworld) in Mumbai's Lokhandwala area in 1991.
The film has both Amitabh and Abhishek playing cops. After Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna , this will be the next film to have Amitabh and Abhishek together on the silver screen.
Lakhia has been shooting with Abhishek in the last few days. Now, he begins shooting the end portions of the film with Mr. Bachchan.
The shooting schedule is being held at Elphinston College.
It seems Bachchan has taken out time from Ram Gopal Varma Ki Sholay to shoot for Lakhia's film. The filmmaker has a high regard for Bachchan. The Big B, too, treats Lakhia as a family member.
Apart from the Bachchans, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt , Arbaaz Khan and Sunil Shetty as cops. Dutt still hasn't shot his portions because he is awaiting his verdict in Mumbai blasts case.
The film has Vivek Oberoi playing Maya Dolas, a mafia henchman.
The movie is being made under the banner of White Feather Films.
